flame can be increased, we have elica hob and the flame was very low initially,we then called technician and asked him to change the flame of one burner and he added some tiny piece like a valve which increases the flow of gas. the flame is so strong now that I use that burner on the medium setting mostly which is more tham enough. cleaning a hob is tough job if you spill some liquid, that is what I find as disadvantage about hobs. rest is manageable

Well the research which u did after installation of the product should have been down before . Should have gone for a better product. But there can be creative solutions instead of changing the entire counter top.For instance u could go for a SS cover( custom ) to seal the excess area or even buy a size bigger than the current product.

Luckily I have an elica 3 burner hob...it's really good...I have been using this hob since 2014...its really great...every guest who come to our kitchen and if I make tea then....they really say wow...such big flame...everyone who sees it, is amazed by the flame and big burners....brass burner with black powder coating on top...touch wood

we are using same Built-in HOB for last 15yrs and there hasn't been a single problem, just yearly need to replace the D type battery. and do a self service every 6 months and daily cleaning of burners and glass

I think faber and elica are good for hobs. I use induction for milk/tea/coffee, the main reason is the vessel s don't get burnt like in gas or hob

All hobs today (60, 70, 78, 90) have the same cutting size. Buy burners made with forged brass. Your hob probably has baser metal burners. If you want to get a cooktop instead of this hob, I guess a simple way would be to get a slab and place it on top of the cutout gap of the hob, and then get a good quality cooktop.

I purchased it on 15 th of August 2016 got it installed on 17 th August 2016 its now 7 years old still working perfectly fine she never ever faced any problems. In one of my cousin's home they are using a Kaff HOB for the last 5 years without any issues another cousin a Faber Hob for the last 3 years without any issues. Hobs are the best if you select the correct company and the correct features. Always purchase hobs with 100 % Brass Burners they really last very long.

Cast iron are best. They do not distort unlike brass due to long cooking. Unfortunately cast iron is not available in fancy products. Hob is just a fancy name for a recessed gas stove. Also people don't understand the word word modular. Unless the cabinets are multiple individual units ( ie modules) assembled together to make a ful kitchen cabinet system it's not modular. But people just name any fancy looking kitchen cabinet system as modular. If it's custom made to requirement and doesn't have individual standard sized modules then it's not modular. Also most important thing for a, stove/ hob is how good and smooth the valve is, how the gas burner is sized to deliver even heat. The smooth control from valve to control a range of heat from low to high is the key to a good stove/hob. Otherwise stoves are extremely simple devices just the shape, materials differ which have very little impact on quality of flame.

You can go for higher width HOB by cutting kitchen counter. Else you can always consult your tiles mistry, he will definitely provide a solution. Then there is HOB Top which provides both functionality. and Yes you made mistake by choosing prestige.

There are standard sizes available in cooking hobs like 90cm ones(same cutout in every brand)with full brass burners with upto 5yrs warranty it’s just that you have to pay some premium compared to cheaper aluminium burners

I completely agree that hobs are not suitable for Indian cooking... I also feel stainless steel cooktops are far easier to clean maintain vs the glass top cooktops, plus they are long lasting too. May I suggest an idea for the cook top without changing the entire countertop...one way is to cover the cut portion of the slab with another piece of slab by pasting it ( a different colored slab will make it look more creative) ..with the same alignment as the rest of the slab...second option would be to have the cut portion covered with another piece of slab not in alignment with the rest of the slab but slightly recessed inwards..may be equal to the height of a slim line cook top so that the top surface of the cooktop will align with the rest of the countertop...the disadvantage of this option will be that while one might be able to place a two or four burner cooktop on this, a three burner cook top may not fit within the space as generally three burner cooktops are much longer.

The Hafele Hob was for 22k and chafing the 3 burners will be around 12k which means in 5 years( I bought it in 2017) would be more than the cost of the Hob. Am totally regretting buying the Hob.

many problems with this prestige hobto..after 7 years of use... we changed it today.....regular indian burners are good. these are etalian gas burners for normal cooking tea ko bhi 20 minutes lagte he espe .. and agar indian burners pe uske uper roti bhakri bahothi fast hoti he 5 min pe tea banta he overall go with normal cooktops.. cut to bilkul bhi mat kro ..hamne to aisehi kitchn ota pe hi Rakhake use kiya tha..niche original studs lagake ..so change krna possible hua hame . and madem aap jo bhi cutout he usase jada 2 inch extra border wala granite cut krke lao aur rakho uper aur naya cooktop purchase kro slik design me hight jada nahi aayega

I know that I had this but I was stressed to give this hob to work to maid as she may spoil that. So for roti cooking I gave her normal gas in balcony. When I shifted to another house I bought basic steel gas with 2 burner and was tension free when maid uses that. If you are young and you manage your kitchen yourself then you can go for look but my view is if maid is cooking most of the time then buy good quality basic gas.

Burners above surface not at all suitable for any type of cooking that needs medium size vessesl/pans, imagine large size and heavy utensils. For safety and balance burners should be within the surface of panel/board. Rather than glass companies should focus on a stainless steel surface which is improved for easy cleaning, glass can be attractive but extremely subjective when it comes to safety. Glass and heat dont go together! Last month my glass stove just burst out of the blue, imagine small pieces of glass everywhere.

I have a gilma hob one and i was charged 4000/- rs for a TG Brass Gas Cock Ball and the service personnel fit in 2 pieces and each one cost me 2000 rs each and total 4000 rs for two pieces, this had to be replaced as it was causing gas leak inside the stove ...and they suggested to buy new pieces but each piece costs 7000 rs and for a 3 burner it will cost 21000 /- and for that price we can as well buy new gas stove...so please dont go for looks as you will end up shelling out more money...i am now currently pissed with this setup and the cost for servicing this each time....and with hob one's i am not sure if we can get the spares and accessories outside of GILMA who charge a lot....
