I remember you answering my questions in the comment section on how your whiff punishment with noctis against lowhighs steve was so on point. You gave me basically the same advice that you went over in this video (moving with purpose and being mentally aware of whiffs) and its really improved every aspect of my gameplay in tekken. Just the basic idea of "be more aware" gave me a really big push to push through blues in T7 while i was struggling ❤

I appreciate this. There are so many good in depth guides people are making for both new and vet players alike. And while theyre all great, alot of them tend to completely skip over the simple stuff, like buttons to use in neutral and how to use certain tools like EWGF, because they think its not important if you have any experience, and I just feel like you’re never too good to go over the basics.

As a general note is if you're using electric for whiff punishment and they whiff during your forward dash you just need to input d,df+2. So technically the electric can almost come out in 11 frames. It's one of the reasons electric is so strong as a whiff punishment tool.

I definitely feel this. As someone who practices electrics almost daily on pad and can’t execute 10/10 but maybe 6-7/10 on a good day. Doing a dash makes it more of a 8-9/10

It doesn't have to be the ultimate definitive guide on etc etc, just hearing your thoughts on how things work, or should work, is very insightful. If possible, could you do more videos like this on the topic of neutral in general? Specifically about keepout and the timing of it. Yes, it is simple but I would appreciate a deeper dive into keepout like you did with whiff punishment.

I think you covered everything important. Great video. I will add that if you can get a really fast EWGF, you can start to squeeze into gaps in opponents offense and that will really fuck them up mentally. But that shit is hard. Also, EWGF loses a lot of value against very evasive characters IMO. Lastly, when it comes to whiff punishment, occasionally you need to use a mid because the opponent recovers crouching, or even just the animation will leave them in a position where highs are evaded.

This is true I’m a garyu kaz main I fought a Leo and sidestepped his move (it crushes highs idk the notation for it) and did electric it whiffed and he LAUNCHED me ngl I was irritated

Momo, i find, (i think) a pretty good combo, guarenteed due to the jab starter. The combo is : -1 Shoot the work (two jab, one kick) But you must stop at the first kick then Go into Samsara, holding for Fly and go for Infernal Annihilation. Dmg: 73 After that you can Ground Laser hit or any move that can hit when he is on ground if you qick enought All that move are guarenteed to hit without fail as long you get duck or block on the starter. Im a low rank and DVJ is so amazing (i get beat down but i wont give up on him despite his difficult match vs all the spammer) Hard to hit Hellsweep on controller without burning his finger, so i must came up with this idea. Ill say, the fact EWGF cant be buffered makes me not use the move in block at all and barely for frametraps, so i mainly use em for keep out and whiff punishing, might try to improve execution for more utility, such a cool move :)

Best to start very slow, focus on getting a crouchdash by inputting it VERY slowly and precise, become faster with it the more you start feeling comfortable with your speeds!

im not sure if its a skill issue on my end, but i find it hard to say deviljins fastest launcher is 14 frames. i know you said in theory, but even then that thought is SO hypothetical, when im in a good mood i get a reina electric in like 4 frames of input, my average is 6.

every single move that is -14 has its own unique blockstun, punishing -14 with EWGF is more about training a feel for that blockstun than just practicing electrics
