Momotaro's 22nd birthday 💗 Gorilla building monitor video included [Kyoto City Zoo]

I read somewhere that males in a troop that has no silverback will mature more quickly and comparing Momotaro at 10 to Gentaro at 10 you can really see that. Momotaro lived alone with his mother after Biju died and, at 10, looked much as he does now! He was moved to Kyoto and mated with Genki very quickly (once he figured it out!). But Gentaro at 10 looks years younger than Momotaro.

They cant physically change based on who is or isnt in their family. Gorillas like humans are all different from each other. Heres a great example. My brother in law is my same age, 48, and has a full head and beard of grey hair. I have not one single grey in my hair or my beard. We are all different. Gentaro is maturing slower than momo did. Its genetics. Thats all.

Happy Birthday Momotaro ❤❤❤ You Are Beautiful Silverback and Leader of your own family. Genki was your Perfect Lady , You Made her life so much Better , You Gave her Two Beautiful Son’s and gave her a Purpose. I believe you saved our Beautiful Genki. You Made her a Mother. And took away her Sadness. Gentaro Looks so much Like his Father and So does Kentaro. But don’t know if they will Ever be as Big and Momotaro. Momotaro s Mother is Much Bigger then Genki. And I Can’t believe Momntaro’s Mother was the cause of Genki getting so Depressed and Poor Genki was Self Harming by chewing her own fingers off. She’s so Sensitive and couldn’t deals with the Silverback she was once with choosing Momotaro’s Mother over her, He stopped having Anything to do with our Poor sweet Genki, So they had to Move Genki Back to the Zoo she is at now. But Momotaro was Conceived after Genki left and then 11 Years Later Momotaro was placed with Genki and the rest is History ❤❤❤🦍🦍🦍🦍 It’s hard to believe that Out of Heartbreak for what Happened to Genki that Her Mate was being Born. And he grew up in 11 Years into a Hug Silverback and fathered his First Miracle Gentaro. Amazing Back Story on these Gorillas. Love the Videos of their beginnings. Momotaro is a Special Gorilla ❤️🦍 I Hope he has a Long Life..

My favourite Gorilla❤🦍 he has grown into a wonderful father and both his boys adore him. He absolutely dotes on Kintaro and is caring towards Gentaro. I always think that because Gentaro was hand raised by the keepers for approx the first 1-18mths there is not quite the same bonding Momotaro has developed with Kintaro although it's evident he loves his oldest child. I could wax lyrical about handsome, quiet and deep Momo, he is a wonderfully impressive animal and in my opinion one of the most beautiful Gorillas in the world. Happy Birthday gorgeous Momotaro, keep well and l hope you are spoiled rotten by the keepers on your special day 💗

Happy birthday beautiful Momotaro! You have much to be proud of. I saw another post from Kyoto City Zoo calling him their zoos “saviour” because he has contributed so beautifully to the propagation of his endangered species with his two beautiful sons. Hopefully he can produce a baby girl at some point as well What a pleasure it has been for me to watch him blossom into fatherhood with his love for Kintaro and Gentaro. He is a shy, aloof and socially awkward gorilla but his sons and Genki are teaching him how to be a “family man” and it’s wonderful to see him evolve and blossom with clear love in his pure heart. 🦍♥️

Yes I agree, they need a girl. In Europe there is a real problem as not enough female gorillas's being born. They have to castrate males now born in zoo's. The world needs female gorillas's. 🙌

@@rhonda5056 Yes Rhonda, she lives in Euno zoo Japan with silverback Haoko ( Shabani’s older brother). She has 2 daughters ( Komomo and Momoka) and little boy Riki. Momoko has just given birth to another baby girl at the end of May this year. She is a wonderful mother but she is in poor health at the moment. 🙋‍♀️🦍🇬🇧

Omg, when I saw the thumbnail of the video I thought it was Kintaro! Mini-me, lol He looks a lot like daddy Momotaro at 5 years I can see Gentaro in the face, but I think Kintaro is looking most like him, but, as they both develop into adulthood we will see who favors papa the most. My thoughts are that iPhones and social media were not as prolific during Gentaro’s growing years as they are now. We don’t have much footage of Momo growing up or Shabani or Haoko etc. not for lack of love of these Marvelous creatures, it’s just social media was not what it was then as now. 🦍♥️

@@gorillabff1003 Hi there, you are definitely right about technology & the silverbacks. Wouldn't it be great to see a young Momotaro, not to mention a young Shabani & Hoako playing together? The exclusion of Gentaro is disconcerting to me. Since Momotaro has 2 sons, I thought both should be shown on his birthday. There are many videos since Gentaro's juvenile years, and especially since Kintaro's birth.

皆モモタロウに若い雌をと簡単に言いますが、国内の雌では血統が近すぎて難しいですし、海外は日本にゴリラを送る事を拒否してます。 日本の動物園のスペースの問題があり海外が基準にしている環境エンリッチメントがあまり充たされておりません。 もちろん動物園の飼育員さんは彼らを過ごしやすい様に努力しています。ですが外国からするとそんな環境に大切なゴリラは送れません。 今のところゲンキとの間に沢山の子供が生まれるのを祈るしかありません。
