As an Mk Ultra survivor who had a programmer father, this song means everything to me. I can't help but suspect Momus went through something similar. He couldn't have encapsulated the bizarre, twisted and tortured, hypnotic and dreamlike horror of that trauma and relationship better.

Katy, the man that made this song IS mr. Pig. He wrote it for a young artist named Kahimi Karie who I think he programmed. She even has a song (written by him) called I am a kitten.

It's strange to think that 2001 was just a few years ago(feels like yesterday),which was the year this album was released. But if you think harder about that,Momus(Nick) was just a 38 or 39(maximum) year old kid,and now he's a 61 year old man!!!(Time flies...aeroplanes crash!)😉🤣👍(but i stil love him and his work though)❤

Lyrics: Sometimes when it rains I get pictures in my brain My programming fails I go off the rails I see asteroids flare between the moons Of Uranus: Momus and Vangelis And when I go wrong Herr Professor Pyg Comes to train my brain with a song Singing 'Daisy Daisy give me your answer do' 'How much is that doggy in the window?' 'She was only a greengrocer's daughter ' 'The rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain' You are my lover You are my author You are my father I am your daughter I'm your disaster I'm your viagra I'm going to beat you at chess Then plant my dagger in your breast You filled me with your breath and your jism Now I've come to bring you death, Pyg Pygmalism I only exist for Herr Professor Pyg As a figment of his huge imagination Mirror, mirror on the wall Who is the villain of them all? The mirror will answer back 'Narcissus' I'm your blessing but not your possession Even what you make can drag you down Sometimes in the night I sing the songs Professor Pyg has taught me Cutting up with scissors All the stupid sexy clothes he's bought me Though my eyes are haunted Though my memories have been implanted No ancestors you can trace An accent from no place invented Sometimes in the night I sing the songs Professor Pyg has taught me Cutting up with scissors All the stupid sexy clothes he's bought me You're my creator You're my employer My violator You're my destroyer But remember that the ones we whip can whip us The ones we strip outstrip us And the things we make can break us You filled me with your breath and your jism You gave me life, I give you death, Pyg Pygmalism Sometimes in the night I sing the songs Professor Pyg has taught me Cutting up with scissors All the stupid sexy clothes he's bought me

@@thoushallbefree5387 - Professor Pyg is a mixture of the Pygmalion character (as retold by Ovid) and Professor Higgins from the Shaw play of the same name. The story bears all kinds of interpretations, and Momus is playing with and building upon the ideas in it. My Fair Lady is another version. The Professor in the play and film is arrogant and manipulative, and the story is always about control. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pygmalion_(mythology)

With all the comments about MK Ultra and incest, I find it pertinent to quote Momus' own notes on this song from the booklet provided with his anthology release. "Commercially, my climax came in the mid-90s, when I wrote a string of Japanese hits for Kahimi Karie. Our last record together, Journey to the Centre of Me, wasn't a hit, but was an amazing record to make... Pygmalism is my favourite song from the session: a summary of my songwriting career with Kahimi... Or rather, a projection of my feelings of guilt about putting my words into her mouth. Appropriately, it was the last time I did; she wrote her own lyrics from then on." Additionally, you can find the original version of this song with vocals by Kahimi Karie here on KZbin. Do your research people.

More Professor Pyg references. MORE. Imagine you're a girl. At a DANCE.
It's based on Pygmailion, the George Bernard Shaw play based on the Greek myth of Pygmalion; later made into the film My Fair Lady. The other stuff might be there - and some of it probably is, knowing Momus - but it doesn't need to be.
