The lies and evil deeds we hear and witness around us destroy the lives of so many people who need to be protected by good laws to keep them safe. The homily today [Monday 17 June 2024] included a few facts I had never heard before. 1. That the sponge used to offer vinegar wine to christ was prior to that being used to clean the anal area as a lavatory item. Could the origin of that data please be given? 2. That Christians in Rome helped the citizens during a severe plague. 3. That Christians were burned as night lights in Nero's garden so he could show his flowers to others. What is the origin of that data? I know of the Christians burned as night lights on the streets leading to the Roman 'theater', but had never heard of the garden site before.
