That Mona Lisa' debut album '11-20-79 was straight fire!! I think she missed that window of opportunity. She deserved so much more shine...
@MrMoorEnt2 жыл бұрын
It wasn't that she missed her window. Her management (one of whom's on the phone with her in the video) was a former A&R of Uptown Records (post Diddy) that got a lot of projects shelved. Despite appearances on Soul Train, Teen Summit, All That, and even some Bad Boy Remixes, her management was more concern with exposing her labelmates Dru Hill (no hate to them) than her. 11-20-79 is a fire album, tho. Island Def Jam should've promoted better.exposing

Yes, it was 96’ think about who was out , Brandi’, Monica’, Xscape, Mary j Blige, Mariah Carey , Toni Braxton, En Vogue, Faith Evans, those were the universal playlist , and almost 40’ Black distribution movies came out from 1995-1997 with killer soundtracks !!! 2020 and I still bangs this record! I bought her Album at Heathrow Airport because I saw her poster in the black beat magazine. I Must of been 14 years old at the time. I didnt like the slow songs at first but Now I cant live without one of her songs on my playlist! She was a danger to the industry and thats why I think they shut her down! The 10 second note on album track 'Keep Fallin' gets me every time! She is a gangster vocalist!

alberto gonzalez BUT WHYYYYYYY? We used to have it so good in the 90's and early 00's. I must admit though music is kind of making a comeback with this: watch?v=U4WRlkgP1JA

alberto gonzalez I definitely like 90's music more. However I will say that the music has began to improve a bit starting in 2013. They began to get back into that 90's theme. It is improving is what I will say.

This is timeless....this type of music belongs in that 90s era. Don't wanna a lot of artists having the same watered down sound.
