Awesome area. Love Monache meadows. BTW, the fishing regulations for the South Fork of the Kern are barbless hooks and artificial lures (no bait). Powerbait is considered bait. Not artificial. You handle the fish well, gentle. Love the Ranger and awesome to see it out there.

One of my more favorite spots. I love all the old cabins in there. The one you drove by is a reclaimed cabin the USFS/BLM use for a staging area for search and rescues and working on the Pacific Crest Trail. Nice video and love seeing you catching your first golden!

Proper lines and it is a walk in the park for the ranger. Your doing good. The ranger is very capable, other countries beat the hell out of the ranger off road. It is very impressive for sure, most here have not pushed the ranger much. Love the content.

Ive only been off-roading since I got the truck late 2019.. And I'm slowly getting better. Learning how to see and take the right lines is everything haha Thanks for watching!! Do you also 4x4?

Gorgeous place. If you're not very careful though, you'll catch yourself high-centered.

Nice video Brother!! Can’t wait to go back this spring. Love that place! Thanks for taking us with you. I was there October 2020 with my daughter and it was freaking cold, 12°. Colorado Native here but hey, cold is cold no matter where you’re at. Just beat a snowstorm on our way out. Peace

Nice video. Love to see you out enjoying this area. I want to check it out soon. I just got into fly fishing. I believe that section of river is classed as wild and scenic and I think it is artificial lures and barbs less hooks only . I am not sure of the keeper refs. You were handling the fish very carefully nice job. . When you go to bait it is much easier to hurt the fish, that is one re I switched to fly fishing I was messing up some rare wild trout here in San Diego bait fishing with small treble hooks. . I got a cheap fly fishing outfit in Amazon and Mad RiverFly Fishing has great tutorials on KZbin. I can see way people fly fish ,the trout really hit the fly’s. I caught my first wild trout the other day Fly fishing. . Give it a try you’ll love it. Anyway I enjoyed watching. And will check out pt 2.

Super cool video ! I plan to go in beginning of March and trout fishing for the first time. I fish a lot in the ocean and bays. If you don’t mind what size hook and eggs were those

Awesome video, I’ve been there, just a word of advice, that’s a wild trout area, there’s special regulations when it comes to fishing, mainly barbless hooks and no bait or scented lures

Yup. Pretty big fine if you get caught. The real reason tho is the fish will die if you use barbed hooks.

Also believe there are regulations on fishing past dark in that area. Hopefully a fish and game officer doesn't see this video

A very cool place, not easy to get in and out of. I hunted deer up there about 40 years ago, when California still had a viable deer herd. 😕

Good video. I did that trail with my '16 Honda Pilot AWD and now I want to go back in my Ranger. Tried to camp near the river/tree area deeper in but after seeing the stars, the meadow is the place to be I think. Did you guys see the milky way?

First time there in 1964. Primitive before loggers built roads and ruined it.

Get a fly rod quit using that spinning rod and read up on the regs on the body of water you’re fishing. Ignorance isn’t a excuse to get out of a fine..
