My brother and I decided to hike the greenway trial in New Hampshire for the fall and were graced with splendid fall foliage, beautiful views, and a challenging hike. This trail starts from Mt Monadnock and goes to Mt Sunapee with a total distance of ~55 miles with 12k feet of gain. There will be plenty to see and do as you hike over mountains, along creeks and lakes, and through quaint new England towns.

I did a SOBO this year (September 7-11, 2023) finishing at the summit of Monadnock with a somber prayer for the lives lost on 9/11. The thunder Gods chased me the entire time. It was fantastic journey and your video brought back some fond memories. Thank you. Clam Chowdah...

Great job on the video! I attempted this Memorial Day weekend of last year but had to abort at the Washington General Store on day 2. The temps were in the 90s and I had a 40+ lb pack on but my body just couldn't go any further at the time. I had literally lost 17 lbs of water weight on that trek and it was an eye-opener for sure. Needless to say, I will be back at it again here in a couple of months with attempt #2 running a much lighter pack and 40 lbs lighter myself here now as well.

Respect for knowing to quit. Some many don’t and get into deep trouble. I cant imagine doing this with 90 degrees. Especially east coast 90 degrees. Hopefully round 2 is s a success. Post a messge here when you complete it.

@@TheOutdoorGypsy - You bet and thank you! I completed the NH48 4Ks and I had never experienced such dehydration as I did on this one hike. So, it was pretty brutal but certainly not a technical hike by any stretch by comparison to the Whites. It is a pretty hike, nevertheless, and this was my first attempt at backpacking overnight VS a typical 15-20 miles day hike. I actually didn't show up at the first shelter in Stoddard behind Center Pond until 10:30pm that first night. I think that was about 23 miles in. Then, it was another 14 miles to the Washington Store where I ultimately threw in the towel. I think I would have stayed at the General Washington shelter right there but there was a couple of local guys hanging out having a few beers and I just didn't feel comfortable with it. So, I had my wife drive me home. I will let you know how I make out.

I think this trail could greatly benefit of better spaced lean to’s or at least a few more spots to camp ⛺️. Good luck 👍

@@TheOutdoorGypsy Hi there. I just wanted to let you know that I DID complete the trail last weekend in 3 days NOBO. I stayed the first night at the Spiltoir Shelter, the second at the Fox Brook Tentsite and then I wrapped up about half the trail on Day 3 to the summit of Sunapee. It was a great hike for me.
