One more!! Dont sit next to peapol you dont know on busses if you dont have to. Then you would look wierd. No one does that here.
@bjrnjensen70744 жыл бұрын
@@Dani-it5sy SOME Norwegians are a bit strange in this way. Personally, I very often say hei/god dag if I am walking in a park and there is a person coming up towards me, just a tiny, brief interaction, but I feel that a tiny "god dag" is appropriate. But this depends on the situation. Obviously, I don`t say "hei" to everyone coming towards me in the park when there are many, which is often the case in midsummer here in Oslo. Also, when I am out hiking in the woods, I mostly say "God dag" as well, if someone is coming towards me. Small talk on the bus: it depends on- sometimes I do, when the situation feels right. So please don`t generalize. I have been on buses and trams in Copenhagen,Berlin, Munich, Cologne, Amsterdam, Sydney, Auckland etc , it is not as if everyone is talking to eachother, some do, others are quiet, reading a newspaper, a book.

Joseph Mckeon depends on where you move. Oslo is by far ridiculously expensive, Bergen, not so expensive.
@whengrapespop57285 жыл бұрын
Joseph Mckeon A Norwegian salary matches Norwegian prices. Average minimum wage is about $21(+/-), and you often get 1.5x to 2x more your hourly wage in the weekends (especially Sundays), but it’s not that much considering what things cost, even if it is much if it was brought into another country. However, housing is expensive for everyone in Norway, unless you live far away from the cities (even that’s often expensive too).

I will move to Norway. I already have a family there who I see as my own family :). So I guess that’s an advantage I have. I will complete my pedagogy study here in The Netherlands and then move. In Norway I can stay with that family until Susanne ( the daughter ) and I have found a house to live in. Before I move I will also go to Norway in summer and winter vacation and also then they will help me and I can sleep there. So practically I really have an advantage there. I will get a job (after my Norwegian study in Norway I will attend) in a primary school ( assistant or teacher we will see ) or as an English teacher. Since I am now studying to be a teacher haha. Or maybe I will study some more! We will see.

Hey! I said that more or less joking... Architecture is a lot of work, and what you learn and the type of projects you do in school are not what you will normally do in "real life" as an architect working on a office. @whengrapespop57285 жыл бұрын
Nadine It is, but Oslo does stand out being a central place for a mixture of cultures, traveling people pit stopping and modern structures. It’s Norway’s big city where people are more focused on international outreach compared to areas around where people are a little more traditional and where the ‘famous’ Norwegian nature is. However, the north isn’t the only “real Norway” like the other person said, you’ll find “real Norway” all around Norway, and there is a variety of unique nature depending on where you are (Oslo is just a little flat, set apart for ‘business’, modernized and influenced by a variety of foreign culture ).

I moved from Holland to Norway for 16 years ago. The first few years was great although not greater than Holland. But after a few years you start to see all the problems. Now I am severely depressed and see now that moving to this country was the biggest mistake I have ever made. It destroyed my life. And now I am stuck since my Norwegian wife and kids are settled here and I don't want to leave them. Its like I live in a kind of open prisson. Maybe its because I live in Bergen. Maybe its the mentality of the people in just this town but if you seen what kind of government the Norwegians choose it seems like its the whole country that is sick. But Nowegians never complain or protest so their government can just do whatever they want and it will always blow over. Its discusting. If you get raped in this country don't bother to go to the police because they don't have the capacity to deal with it. Drug addict? Then in this country you are considered garbage that doesn't deserve any help. There is no money even though this is one of the richest countries in the world. The money goes to prestiges projects like insane tunnels and bridges or sponsering electric cars.. ALL to keep up a fasade towards the outside world so they think Norway is amazing but when you really get to know the country... And I can go on like this and write a book about it. Maybe I will one day. Please people that are considering to move here. Think twice and three times.
