Machine has been well maintained. Many machines have not been . too many non-owners used them.

The machines and the gov sites like the DOE really take a beating, so did ones at Boeing I couldn't find one locally that was good. This one was used by Western Electric and had very little use but got dinged up a little from putting things on it.

You have convinced me these 10EE lathes are outright amazing. And you come up with then coolest old adds. Some of them I remember. Most were before my time.

Good morning Don. They do not make machines like the Monarch 10EE anymore. Your lathe is a pristine example for sure. I am amazed at the torque in low speed. Happy Independence day. 🇺🇸

These were always special order only and still available. monarchlathe.com/products/lathes/toolroom/monarch-ee-series People are finding these in amazing condition lately. But, the catch is for example, this machine has 88 wires where the old Axelson has 5!

The Monarch Company was determined to stay on top in the machines class from1939, they always cost more than an average house. They made over 8000 and they are popping up more.

I think it is ok, a very smooth surface, it could be bad with a glove on.
