Lovely tribute, another one gone. Monarch to go was a big shock.

Wonderful video! I saw one of the very last flights by chance at Gatwick. Sad to see this airline is history now. The tragedy is enormous. The feeling of togetherness is strong in aviation.

7 years ago today I came out of school being told Monarch was gone, and I was in shock, we had flown Monarch ALOT before they collapsed, being born in the latter 2000s and Monarch gave me so much memories having held the first flight i can properly recall in 2013

Great tribute. I still think there was something a little odd about this collapse. Monarch was never known to have financial difficulties until Andrew swaffield came over, strangely his portfolio was mainly with competitor IAG where he had started at the bottom in a travel shop and worked to the top as a director. Monarch had some valuable slots at Gatwick who brought them IAG????

Well the months of October and November have been crappy for the aviation industry from a plane spotter perspective. Heck even for us airline employees. Southwest’s last 737-300, United just retired their last 747-400. Air Berlin is gone, Monarch is gone. Hate to say it but who or what is next???
