It happens a lot. I play Monarchs (my favorite deck), and many players just don't analyze its opponent's field at all. They just go to their bread & butter combo without thinking beyond it.

Lab uses the E.D as a toolbox with dogmatic trap cards, in addition to several decks usually carry Chaos Angel and some fiend-type links 2 monsters among other alternatives In the case of monarchs, the only reason why they can beat E.D monsters is because they have effects or integrate stun cards.

Allure of darkness is an interesting tech, more affordable than upstart thanks for sharing. My monarch runs a going 2nd variant with 1 lightning storm, 1 raigeki, 1 feather, 2 evenlies, the idea is break your opps field first then, lock them out of extra deck. I also run 2 marchs to protect my tributes. Just be careful of labs they can ruin your board pretty bad with viruses

@@grimhellovanmikoto2486 , decks like Labrynth and Trapix are my weakness, but Droll & Lock Bird is my main weakness. Even more than negate boards from combo decks. I don't have any board breaker cards because I focused on a strong going first build; the best thing for Monarchs.

​@@Timeateryeah monarch turn 1 passing with vanity and march is a more powerful endboard than multi negates. Sadly monarchs doesn't have much free spaces without sacrificing consistency. I think evenly is a must have card though for monarch to clear out the backrows too ans the potential imperm on your opps set spell zone, and makes labs go back to square one with their traps being resetted

@grimhellovanmikoto2486 , Evenly Match works well in many builds that I have made before. The thing is that after breaking the board of my opponent, if successful enough, I tend to lack sufficient cards on hand to make the lock. Remember that you still have to navigate through handtraps, and if you can't put the lock, you'll end up passing the turn without a proper board.

Your videos are great showcases, but man you face a lot of really low-level opponents. In this video we have: - First opponent sets up Scythe lock against a nonexistent Extra Deck. - Mathmech player opens full combo against no interruption, but fails to set up Terahertz OR Superfactorial and instead ends on just Firewall + Ash Blossom.

Yeah I tried this deck many times and I can't even seem to beat people in Gold rank with it. Always getting hand trapped, always getting Raigeki'd or Dusted and bricking almost every other duel. I was a fool and just went with the first decent looking Monarch deck and now I'm paying for it.

for 1 free tribute material, and when you tribute him, you got him back to hand so the next turn you can summon him again. note that he has effect to summon him self, no need to wasted your normal summon for him.

I dont think its on MD yet but the new thestalos is awful, it has good effects ill give you that, like a built in kaiju like effect and non target banish on its summon, but the fact that its not actually a monarch because it doesnt have a monarch statline just make it another brick on your monarch deck, you cant reveal it for tenacity, and its not searchable by return or ether's effect, so yeah, not a good card for the decks that have a consistency problem

as a monarch player, i never use squires in my deck they are useless, something happen and stop my turn there or get ash, is better to use slayer o DinoW instead and use Bystial on it because is 1 tribute each and special summon.

Nice to see people playing Monarchs but I'm surprised you're not using Thestalos The Mega Monarch it has most OP effect of all Monarchs and Time Tearing Morganite can be invaluable to this deck it's difficult to fathom not using that either.

@@futhedude4848 That one card you take from your opponent can mean the difference between winning and losing I've pulled several board breakers from my opponents using Thestalos.

@@crazyd3mon968 yea but not mean he's the strongest, he doesn't even better compare to Erebus, Erebus can shufle 1 card in opp hand (or field or gy) to the deck, even though it just random, but he have other effect as well, such as feeding GY 2 Monarchs S/T, and can revive in each player main phase. Meanwhile Thestalos only discard 1 and burn (which is suck).

I play and spend a lot of gems in tis deck I love the deck but its just not so consistent and most of the duels I won straight up just opponents no read moment like the first and second duel scythe lock with no extra and a prosp to add imperm instead off evenly not reading March's targeting protection these players man.
