Belgian Royalist Song - Vers l'avenir

Vers l'avenir (Toward the future) less commonly known by its Dutch title Naar wijd en zijd, is a Belgian royalist and nationalist song, composed in 1905. The lyrics were written by Gentil Theodoor Antheunis. Vers l'avenir also served as the national anthem of the Congo Free State.

Though this song was during the 1930s and 40s coopted as the anthem of Leon Degrelle’s fascist Rexist Party, the song, which was composed in 1905, far predated fascism and was purely meant as an ode to Belgium and the Belgian monarchy, not to any other political ideal or goal

Simply my style. Very many channels place the coat of arms in the centre of the scree, some in a corner, and some use the flag. I decided to do something more unique and fitting of the nature of my channel as a channel dedicated to monarchist music; have the picture of a/the relevant monarch

I like to think of the kingdom of Belgium like the Kingdom of Prussia. It didn't need to exist, it didn't have to exist. But it wanted to exist and it proudly became a nation. God bless the Kingdom of Belgium.
