Monash Hard Waste - WM's 6x4 Acco

This week we look at the continuation of the Monash Hard Waste series. My last video featured an 8x4 Acco but this time a 6x4 Acco Rear Loader features in the video.
Whilst on the hunt for one of the new 8x4 Acco's I bumped into this 2012 6x4 Iveco Acco with a Maxi Pak RL body. I'm not 100% sure if this is a SPAK built body or a Richards Coachworks refurb Compaction Systems body but I still remain 80% sure this is a SPAK built body. But I'm open to all corrections and feedback! Most of these 2012 Acco's replaced the Isuzu's in their fleet at the time.

There's something unique about WM and their hard waste contracts... maybe the fact they only seem to do clean-up work and run these mean Compaction Systems designs! Doesn't look like the case in Monash, but do they normally run separate trucks for general, greens, metal and mattresses or only for certain councils? Still love how the driver runs the packer, guess it's actually kinda more efficient at times seeing the runners can just keep grabbing and loading stuff - keeps the driver more focused on the job at hand as well! These packers are really brutal, just open up and drop down in the hopper and into anything in its path... until 0:52 where it bitches out and retreats hehe I'd say you're right about this being an SPAK build too. It's not much to go off, but SPAK started having the black layout for the control consoles, plus the (tiny) side door for body access has a proxy switch to disable hydraulics when opened - CS never did to my knowledge, SPAK introduced a few safety switches like this when they took over.

WM have picked up a fair few Hard Waste contracts and perhaps won some off other contractors which may have caused some beef? They drivers love the Compaction Systems Maxi Pak design, best they have ever come across. They do run separate trucks for each type of collection and I did pick up on what you mentioned but maybe they were told to just pack everything in? Cause my area is the right on the Monash border, it's the last bit of Hard Waste and then they head up to the Waverley areas (Start from the bottom and work up). They were behind so they had to hurry up to avoid working on weekends... in other words - everything had to be polished off. Strong packers alright! I am quite sick of the sound though :( would prefer to hear something different. Imagine an 07 Acco rocking up fuaaark. Yeah I thought so aye, it looked pretty new so it must of been SPAK. And that's where you have gotten me! your knowledge on these small modifications is where I lose hahaha.
