i've been listening to an audiobook about life in ancient egypt and having a laugh every time they said that people gave beer to drink to their children, but i see now how it does make sense since the alcohol would kill bacteria and make it safer

This poor professor, he’s just trying to describe how things were in this era, but the students keep arguing “it shouldn’t have been like that!” Maybe not, but that’s not the point, and we can’t change the past, so why don’t they just concentrate on learning about what this period was like?
