Fellow fire wife here🙋🏼♀️ The more overtime he works, the more y’all bring in and the more money you SAVE! Most do 24 hour shirts normally, meaning that’s 3 ish days a week they work…3 meals a day. That’s 9 meals a week you save money on. She mentioned showers? They do that at the station. Use electricity? At the station. All stuff you save money on to put back…or I guess toward the house that you can’t afford. 🥲 Not to mention a bed to yourself, take out, and some peace every 3rd night? Yes please😂

I understand being poor - I grew up with my mom rotating which bill she could be late on because she was a single part with a part time hob - but I can't help but to be annoyed finding out that these people were living above their means. I don't know if it's financial illiteracy or whatever, but it's hard for me to feel sorry for people who can't afford to live in a gated community. Like, was I supposed to be sorry for that girl? Sorry you couldn't go to Big Bear on a night you know is more expensive?

As someone who has worked in marketing for a decade, and who works with the franchising team for a popular Australian restaurant chain, what these people do is NEITHER of these things. They are not in marketing, they are not franchise owners, the closest they are is sales representatives. The different is sales reps GET PAID to promote whereas these poor suckers PAY to promote. They're like backwards sales reps. A part of me dies every time they call themselves marketing geniuses or franchise/business owners.

@taliafantin3543 жыл бұрын
So much wrong with so much of this! But what another KZbinr had once said, why doesn't personal development require you to build on your skills? Why is it always reading books like, "You are a Badass" or "Girl, Stop Apologizing" . For example, Beachbody "Coach's" aren't encourage to read books on nutrition or research proper form of different workouts, or different muscle groups. Just another way for them to keep you roped in! Also, why do you need an MLM to do personal development? I'm personally always doing "personal development" (saying that makes me cringe now). I bought a book to educate myself on the oppression and exploitation of indigenous people. A friend of mine tried learning a new language after she graduated university. Personal Development is NOT listening to motivational podcasts or reading self help books!
@taliafantin3543 жыл бұрын
Disclaimer: I've not been in Beachbody so I don't know what they tell you to do or not to do. However, the "personal development" they are typically advertising is all about self help and motivation. Maybe they teach you about muscle groups, nutrition and proper form, however, ive seen a few Beachbody coach's on IG posting their workouts with improper form.

Okay I have to rant about the second lady. My husband and I also live in Southern California. It’s a big place so obviously we could be in very different areas (we live in a beach town near Malibu). The first six years of our marriage I worked part time as a preschool teacher, he works for a naval base here (and doesn’t make as much as she said her husband does). The last three years we lived in a 2bd apartment (1200 sq ft which is pretty big for this area) right on the water of the harbor. Even working part time, we had extra money at the end of the month. HOWEVER, we also both bought our cars used and paid them off in a year so we wouldn’t have car payments. We only used our credit cards so we would get cash back (like you mentioned Isabella) and paid it off at the end of the month. I wasn’t spending over $150 a month on crappy shampoo. We didn’t go on boogie ass vacations all the time. And side note, you can get a four day stay at a whole cabin in Big Bear over New Year’s Eve for about $1500-$2000, so idk where the hell she was paying $500 for one freaking night for a hotel room. Also you have $20000 in credit card debt and you’re still doing trips and love to travel?!?! That’s why you’re probably in so much debt!! How can you enjoy your trip when you’re worried if your cards are even going to work???? We had enough extra money to save over $1000 a month so we could save up for a down payment of our home we just bought a few months ago. We still have enjoyed our lives and done lots of fun stuff, just within the means we have. You can live in Southern California and budget well and live well below your means without having to work for some MLM. Long rant, but she is absolutely infuriating.

@pnwgirl43 жыл бұрын
Damn the second girl has some serious spending issues. Even now that she has more money she continues to buy more and more expensive things and probably not saving much. I am an esthetician and my fiancé is a server and we are doing fine because we live within our means. We chose an apartment that was less than what we could feasibly afford so that we can save more. Don't get me wrong I've made some unwise financial decisions in the past but what she's describing is pretty extreme. Even at my most poor I was still always able to pay my rent, water bill etc. You plan for it.
