Hi Jessica, today was an extra special video . Love it when you talk thru your ideas as you paint and explore like today. You are just so much fun, intriguing and so knowledgable as you teach yourself and us at the same time. In today's video being able to see close up, I got a feel for the layers and the depth of your paint. So when you lightly scoop in or move in with your pallete knife, I could see how buoyant the paint looked. Thay play of pushing against something without penetrating it.That brought up a memory of what it feels like playing with water and lightly tapping or slapping the water with your hands/fingers to hear the sounds it makes without your hands going thru the water. It felt like that's how it would feel playing with the feel of the paint in this technique. And that leaves an indelible impression in my mind, one of playing and feeling the paint vs the mental aspect of learning a concept without the feel, if that makes sense. You explain the process so well along with the camera angle that it was a powerful lesson or study. ( Ive not tried this before but your video definitely left an impression of how I would go about 'feeling' the paint with the palette knife). Thanks for a scintillating lesson. LOVE paint and your paintings are so awesome. The purples & pinks are super pretty and the gold webbing or outlines around where the paint looks or becomes transparent is particularly facinating. Also the pink painting on the wall is crazy great and stunning in composition. Thank you for your time today. Loved every single minute of it. 😊

Great video today!! And I’m impressed you’re using the hot pink again too!! I tried to ask several times in the chat, but my timing was off (🙄), would you consider making a video on swiping? I’ve asked before and you added cameras from the side which is so much better than from above…..but I’m meaning a tutorial on how to hold the palette knife, the angle, how to twist and turn with ease and I’d love to see from a side closeup how deep you go into the paint. Whew that was a mouthful!! You’re always so great explaining everything you do and I have learned so much!! If this is something you don’t want to do, no worries!! I’ll still love ya and watch you!! 😊

Loved watching you paint again. Regarding the little bubbles I have a thought and it's just a thought. A few weeks back I had quite a lot of airbubbles and tried to get rid of them with my little burner. As soon as I did that the little bubbles appeared. That's what it felt like: the heat creating those little airbubbles. My room was cold. I have no idea whether the heat created them because the paint and the room were cold or whether the airbubbles were there already. I turned up my thermostat, waited for 3 hours and did another painting and just popped the bigger airbubbles. Hardly any tiny ones showed up. No burner used. I got some tiny bubbles from swiping and I pounded my canvas a few times on the table and they were gone. It dried perfectly. Just thoughts. I don't know enough about the physics around this to really know what happens. See you next week! 😘

Yes, I missed you live Monday too. 😢 Anyways, were you having issues with Pigments not dissolving all the way? (at 19:15) I wet w JoSonja and let it sit for 15+ min before adding medium. After that, if they sit too long (2 - 3 days) the powder settles to the bottom and I'm having to scrape it up a 2nd time. And if the bottom of container has any impressions on the bottom (like mine 😜), it's even harder to re-mix. Thanks for letting me share my fails here! Cheers!

Hi Jessica, I wanted to tell you how beautiful your paintings are! You also seem like an extremely fun person 😊. I was wondering if, when putting down your black paint, have you ever used any other colors? Would a dark Blue, Purple, or even Green work the same way? Thank you so much for any help you can give me and for sharing your amazing talent with us ❤️

Gallon of paint sitting in some type of tub water and the tub of water sitting on top of a small grow mat? Kind of like a double boiler. I am having serious issues with bubbles in the pillow paint! My torch is to hot no matter the setting. Small grow mats only get to 72 degrees.

Nope, it’s Strom like the German word for electricity. It’s my last name.
