Happy that bought this clock while it was on Kickstarter (got version with battery) before I watched this video as every app I've installed works without any issues. I have train departures near me, underground status, next bus from station near me, IFFTT inegration, HUE light integration, Crypto tracker, kickstarted tracker, my own radio stations streamed locally, and some statics from my DNS server (number of blocked ads, traffic saved, host with most queries) and couple of private apps I'm testing concepts. And it is from the one of the first batches so I'm using it from 2015. The only issue I had - in the first couple of days bricked it while flashing but support send me the guide how to flash it via USB. So man, like you said "on paper" and in real life it delivers what it promises. And it doesn't look cheap - it's really nice matte plastic. If anyone doubts about buying - better watch a real review done by somebody who knows what he is doing. And really like the nigh mode feature - where it detects light off and lowers the brightness and removes color picture.

I was looking to buy this for a while now, but always put off by the price tag. Even IF everything worked like it should it seems a little high for what it SHOULD do! I'm going to say that I love my LaMetric. We put it the family room and set it up for Twitter feeds on whatever we are watching for instance #LivePD ... during Live PD it's like having a hilarious running commentary. Sporting events are great as well. During the rest of the time we have news feeds and Google Trends running. If a breaking news event happens we almost always see it on the LaMetric before anywhere else. It is a little buggy for some of the things mentioned, but I feel like I would seriously miss it if mine were to go away.

Ditto. Had mine for over a year, it sits on my desk alerts me to breaking news, I have an app I use to push info to it, I use it for phone notifications, I use the radio alarm and stream music to it over Bluetooth, it's integrated into my security system so when my motion detectors detect movement the radio goes on full, the lights come on, etc. Is it worth the price I paid for it, mehhh... No but it is rather neat and I'd buy it again.

Oh man, glad I'm not alone in thinking it's a waste. I haven't had connection issues, but I just keep it on subscriber count and don't mess with it. But for $200, it's very cheaply built, the LEDs flicker on-camera when above a like 60hz shutter speed, and it has no built-in mounting options. Such a joke.

Wish I would’ve watched this video sooner bought the clock it had problems with the face having black spots across the screen they told me they wouldn’t replace it none of the apps work on it and now with KZbin updating the way there subscriber count works the metric clock will only update every 10 100 or 1000 followers if you can get it to work properly biggest waste of money.

Looks great, Doesn't work. I have bought one some time ago. Never worked as it should. I bought it in the first place to track our LinkedIn followers. The counter worked as it should for about a month ... than it stopped working, and now the counter is not available anymore ! What a waste of time and money.

I have looked at this every once in a while, (the lametric time) , I am interested in using it in my restaurant as a facebook counter display in the dining room and perhaps time/weather. Mainly I want it for the facebook counter. I have looked at apps for a tablet to use but nothing seems to work well. You've had it a few years now, considering it's limitations, would you think it would work well for that specific use? I have seen one other brand Smirl, but it's considerably more money. Are the connection issues resolved now? Have you seen their new wall tiles? Seems you can make a large version of the clock for your wall.

I watched your video a couple weeks back and decided against the clock. I showed it to my girlfriend and she got it as a gift for Christmas. So, here I am 24 hours out of the box and wow this thing sucks. I cant even get the thing to operate at 10% functionality. Every time I switch apps it crashes. Want to love it, great concept, but cannot recommend at all.

For an LED light that's always ON absolutely. Most Bluetooth speakers don't even last a 15 hours.
