"shoehorn" a bunch of solutions? A rode wireless pro (or any wireless mic system), attached to a self powered shotgun mic, and two cables is all the "shoehorning" you need to do. Pretty solid mic! There is just a slight delay for me when I auto sycn it by a few milliseconds, so I have to manually sycn the audio each time. Also worth noting after 1hr recording it starts a new recording and on a 24fsp timeline there is an 11 frame delay. But for the convenience and ease I have been using this mic a bunch. Actually I feel like if you auto sycn 3:31 there might be even a slight delay right there if you watch the mouth 🤔
@mondobytesАй бұрын
Most wireless mics have a slight drift, even if you adjust to be ahead or later it's almost impossible to get it right. I haven't recorded over 1 hour but good looking out, I'll have to test it to see if it happens. Are you running the latest firmware?
@MatthewDangyouАй бұрын
@@mondobytes Yeah I am running the current firmware unless they updated in the last 2 weeks. Well the drift was when I auto sync the audio and the 32 bit float recording was slightly off and had to manually sycn it because it was slightly off by a few milliseconds
@Comica.AmericaАй бұрын
Hi, we did this because we considered that the file for a 1 hour recording would be large.

Great video, although I’m using a RODE WIRELESS PRO to do the same thing with my Sennheiser MKE600. The only difference is the TX needing strapping to the boom pole but tower than that it’s no more complicated than this set up as both still require an RX to be plugged into a camera. It’s definitely a more affordable option but for that price the transmitter and mic can’t be that good quality. I’d rather a pro mic and have that connected to an external transmitter. Maybe Sennheiser and alike will offer a similar feature down the line perhaps.
@mrtievolimediaАй бұрын
Having said that, it does sound great and can see a lot of used for it but what if you want a second mic to record something into the camera? With the RODE wireless system you can set multiple TX’s if you need to mic multiple people. Can you pair extra mics to the one RX?

i ended up watching this twice... i have the Rode video mic ntg, and have been considering getting another shotgun mic, and this looks like it might be a great place to start my thinking and research. though i do already have a couple suggestions for mic manufacturers looking to compete with something like this. 1 give it Bluetooth so it can pair directly with cameras like DJI and insta 360 for those of us who us this sort of thing. 2 give us battery replacement information...whether that is a kit to do it ourselves, or a place to send it and have it done. i would like to see fewer built in batteries in small devices. just me, but dead battery and useless mic.... just throwing it out there great video, time to look up some more comparison videos.

Best thing about the sennheiser is that it doesn’t need much processing, maybe a little boost in 13-15khz range, but that’s about it.
