Since you're using Nova Launcher... if you have the Prime version with gestures enabled, you can make Autovoice recognize extremely convenient by binding it to a gesture. I have my phone set to recognize when I swipe down the screen. Just a suggestion to make things easier than a shortcut... and slightly less clutter on the desktop. Excellent advice here as usual!

Another quick additional note, for something like turning wf-fi off... or a task that stays on (Yatse Remote for my media center), don't click the Autovoice "event" box. In MOST cases you WILL want to use it when it's just giving a quick response (like voice commands or text-to-speach responses), but in order to use voice recognition for some system functions... and you'll have to play around with it a bit... you'll want the event box unchecked.

Tip: If you want that tasker talks back to you, you can use the "say" command (you can find this in 'misc'). If you want that in your own language, you can still download some TTS for you language.

There is an action for tasker called Get Voice that you can use instead of auto voice... compare everything using if and the same methods you mentioned (regex etc)

Great video! Love this series. I'm having a strange issue. I made a voice-activated bedtime task. I say "(goodnight|sleep)" and it turns off sound, turns off the voice listening, turns on wifi, and displays a notification telling me 'goodnight'. If I press the play button on the task, everything works perfectly. If I use my widget to activate voice and then say "(goodnight|sleep)", it gives me my goodnight notification, which means it should have worked, but it doesn't turn off sound...

It's possible. The task you initiate will dial *67 and then your command. I couldn't tell you the exact way to do it off the top of my head, but I know you can change your voice queries around and stuff.

Brandon, HTC Sense may in fact be the issue. I know on a couple of the phones I work with the HTC Sense ones will turn off features automagically. Like for example, Wi-Fi.

How does the audio focus work? I've set up a profile, that uses AutoVoice to recognize spoken command "next song" that triggers a task that switches music player app to next song. What I wanna do now is to keep AutoVoice listening to more commands (probably by using AutoVoice continous) and IN THE SAME TIME still playing music. Until now, it often pauses music to focus on AutoVoice...

What is the battery penalty for having auto voice continuous active? AVX does these functions also, but listening continuously starts to impact battery time. I've settled for activating "wake mode" by tapping the AVX Wiget then turning it off the same way when I am done. AVX is a fantastic app that can do many things! It is well worth checking out, even if you only use a small part of its functionality.

Have you thought about integrating a home voip and lights so your lights would flash when the phone rings? Maybe interface a htpc with the lights to dim or turn off on play and come back up when paused or stopped. Do you have profiles for each individual in your home. So if I get home first around dinner time, maybe have lights on to the kitchen and message the rest of the family via text that I can start to get dinner ready.

Instead of having 2 dofferemt tasks make a toggling behaviour so it toggles the state. Make a global variable to track the state and its all done.

Good Tutorial and very interesting. Is it just my phone, but do I have to do something special in order to have Tasker work on a Samsung S3? I tried both ways that you showed for removing the Key log in when under a certain Wifi Network. But, no matter what I do it doesn't work all the time. It is a hit and miss and lately more miss! Any suggestions?

I use tasker to save battery: GPS On when i start any app that needs it (or i say it needs it) and then turn GRP off when i close them. I have a task that turns down my brightness to 0 when my screen is off for 5min so I have a dimmed screen next time I use it (i always forgot to turn it down again even if i didnt need it). I also turn mobile data off when im not downloading and my screen is off, then the task rotates through on/off in 5min cicles (saves approx. 50% Batterywaste by Data) cheers

That's why Google is creating the MotoX. Similar to my video, it will now be available for the average joe without the need to fiddle with it. You can't compare Siri to Google Voice, Google takes voice search to a whole different level. Like I said before, everything Siri can do Google search can too. So once again, I don't agree "Siri is good".

I like to use tasker to activate auto listening upon turning my screen on. I have the zerolemon 7000mah battery for my gs3 so btry is no issue. i'm surprised to see how little battery this feature uses.

I had the same problem when I first started using Autovoice... don't click event behavior for system functions that you want to remain in a certain state. Wif-fi and Bluetooth being the exact two I had initial problems with.

Hola Armando... I really love your video tutorials on Tasker... I need your advice on getting this sort of issue I am having with my Radio System. I have a Pioneer In dash radio. I have mirroring working from my Nexus 5 to my monitor. I load an App called ARLiberator, which then enables my Bluetooth connection. The only problem I have is getting the Cast Screen to auto connect to my Wireless Netgear device in my car. I have to manually set the Cast Screen/Wireless device and then the connection is made. Do you have any suggestions as to how I could do this process step by step. Please. I would really need your help on this. Thanks again

Armando...I want to use this example to run a shortcut (soundhound). I see where it can open the app but then normally you would need to click the button as it doesn't automatically start listening and recognizing. There is a shortcut for this but i don't see the option available in tasker to run a shortcut. Any ideas??
