That is a very sexy set up, I have to admit. As for me, at my age (50s), I've been doing this since 1995..almost 30 years, with over 8 feature films under my belt and heavy duty camera rigs...I want my Pyxis (whenever it arrives) to be as simple and light as possible. I'm trying to stay away from heavy duty rigging on any of my cameras (lately). My back is not what it use to be. 😆😆😆 Cool video brethren. Love the set up. Happy filming on your new film project.

@@guguemichaels I think the build he has is alright . It’s good for a tripod type shooting but for on the go - no. The weight alone wouldn’t fit a good ronin 2 build . I’ve been doing this for a very long time and one thing I know is less weight is so much better . If I were you I would shell out the funds and go with a ronin 4d 6k for 9 thousand . Over the Pyxis . Especially because it’s basically a one stop shop for your needs !

wouldnt it be easier to have longer 15mm rods on the top so you can mount the lidar AND the follow focus motor? ? Also, with the v-mount plate, cant you flip the 15mm rods so the battery is a little lower and more flush than being so high up?
@mondobytes3 ай бұрын
Can't mount the Lidar and FF in the same rod because the FF will block the Lidar unit. Also lowering the V-Mount plate will block the 2 pin power limo connection so it wouldn't work. The only reason it "looks big" is because of the Caleb pike battery that is really tall. Putting any other normal size V-Mount makes the rig look flush.
