Oh god that inspiration tab being all AI thumbnails speaks volumes for the challenges of 2025

Ha, yeah I know. The idea of inspiration is fine, but AI's creepy tendrils will be affecting our space soon enough I am sure.

Seems that with KZbin's variable rates based not only on your channel's overall engagement, but also the category (many people don't realize that's a thing) sometimes restricting your income potential blaster channels either have to be huge, or get lots of sponsorships to make much. Case in point, my wife was doing beauty products and her channel had about 1500 subs, vs my channel's 5000 and me also holding a slight advantage in watch time, but her's was more profitable. Still, many of us are doing content because we enjoy it, not as a dedicated income source, so all's well as long as you're enjoying what you do!

It is quite interesting, and I feel that for sure, I have often thought, if I had a 34k camera or gaming channel, I would probably make a lot more thanks to broader appeal! Beauty products would be a huge category. I am sure there are also people with 5k subs outperforming my channel as well, who are more focused on regular long form content!

I’m glad you enjoyed it! People are generally pretty private with their stats so I thought it would be interesting to share :)

I appreciate getting the behind the scenes glimpse. Thank you. Bummer about Team Mega XXL not competing at Maryland this year, but that means you can focus on some other things. Take care.

It’s interesting to see the reaction to different videos. Some of the ones you think will do awesome, bomb, the ones you think won’t do well, do the best 😂! I’m still waiting for my Partnership, so I only get some info, but fun just to look. Thanks for sharing!

100% - Never thought a dog treat launcher short would be one of my best. I have done other dog videos since with Nerf products and they did just ok haha. Sometimes there is something in a video people love arguing over and that helps too lol.

This was a cool video. I liked seeing behind the scenes. What do you think about A/B testing thumbnails?
@maritimefoam28 күн бұрын
Oh everyone should do it. I don’t and I should. It’s a lot of work, but so is making videos and ideally you have as many people see them as possible

I can't believe the video that said "Don't watch this video" was a 10 out of 10 video.

Haha, I agree. I was hoping that might intrigue more lol

Thanks for sharing -super interesting... crazy that some videos with less views/watch time can generate more $. I would have never guessed that one!

Thanks for watching! I appreciate it! Yeah, and ad revenue can really vary depending on what your channel is about, I didn't really get into that one!

After 1000 subs it doesn't really matter much for income. It's all about view, watch time and engagement after that.
@maritimefoam28 күн бұрын
Well, to a point, watch time and engagement are the most important thing, chasing subs is more of a game to some extent, but you still need that growth and it helps immensely to grow a regular audience.
