The thing is. The ancestors of the Shell oil company family were importing & selling 'Sea Shells' in England back in the 1830's. Then they became an oil company in 1907. The nursery rhyme 'She Sells Sea Shells' came from that back in the 1800's. Hence the link with the line in this song "Business economics in a nursery rhyme".

@James Kelley ....Oh yeah, for sure, totally agree! You know he was signed by Sony when he was 16, right before he got Lyme disease, which was undiagnosed at the time, and because he was in so much pain and could hardly ever leave the house, Sony dropped him. Ren stated on Twitch recently, despite the agony he had to endure for a decade, the one good thing that came out of it was Sony dropping him. He said there's no way he'd be making the type of music he is now, if that hadn't happened, and not just the fact that he avoided being put through Sony's cookie cutter machine of what a proper pop star is supposed to look and sound like, but that so much of music, and art in general, comes from life experience, especially pain and suffering, that he thinks he couldn't have gotten to the depths musically that he has the last decade, until maybe he was in his 40s or 50s otherwise. I tend to very much agree with him on that too. ✌️

DeBeers did the lock em up make like there is a scarcity for Diamonds. DeBeers, founded by Cecil Rhodes in 1870, has been a highly successful and effective controller of the diamond market, having developed a unique purchasing and marketing cartel that has influenced prices in the market virtually undisturbed for almost a century. But the biggest trick they pulled was creating the concept of a Diamond engagement ring. Funny thing, multiple times a girl might get engaged before getting married & 2nd hand used market is crap as most end up thrown in a lake. Diamonds have an actual low intrinsic value not like gold or silver, they devalue by 50% immediately after retail purchase. Prior to DeBeers engagement ring "A Diamond Is Forever" campaign in 1948 only 10% of engagement rings had a Diamond now it's in the high 90's. Let's not talk about chocolate at Easter or Xmas presents

Dammit, I wasn't going to comment on this reaction, just sit back and enjoy it, and no you're not losing me as a new sub, I don't cancel people for having an opinion, but despite supporting your freedom to have such opinions on covid, I feel obligated to inform you of how very wrong you are in that opinion..lol. Let me start off by mentioning that I am EXTREMELY passionate about the massive amounts of misinformation that surrounded covid and the pandemic, especially here in the U.S., I worked in emergency medicine / rescue for 27yrs, retiring just before covid hit from job related ptsd, and I've lost many young healthy brothers n sisters to covid, out there on the front lines, sometimes running over 20 calls in a 24hr shift, because people refused to take this virus seriously. So between my normal OCD, and the fact of being board out of my mind after retiring, I am not kidding when I say I spent the better part of a year, almost daily, doing hours of research and deep dives, on anything related to covid, and I had a lot of in roads still with many medical professional and scientists of all kinds, even a buddy at the CDC. I'm not trying to say I'm the ultimate expert on all things covid, but I know a lot more than the average bear. So I'm not going to get technical on the science and medicine side, if you have particular questions about chemistry, studies, biological etc.. aske away, I'm going to focus more on the societal and leadership handling of the pandemic. I also want to a say that I agree with you on govt. corruption, them weaponizing fear in order to control, the absurd amount of money U.S. politicians make and the pure slime that the lobbyists and that whole system is. Thing is, that can all be true, and the world still can get hit with a shitty situation via a pandemic or other worldwide natural disaster. I've also personally dealt with "big pharma" folks over the years, they're not my favorite type of people by a long shot. So when it comes to things like this, lets say you were 100% correct in your hypothesis that fear was stoked by the media and politicians about the pandemic, for what reason though?? The media for ratings/clicks which pleases their corporate owners, or the individual CEO and his/her board of directors, but how what would the cooperate/ruling class have to gain from a country split on how to react to the pandemic, causing hundreds of thousand of more illness deaths. Do you really think big pharma needed a vaccine to really start making money. Normally big pharma doesn't touch vaccines with a ten foot pole? There's no money in them, because they are subsidized by the govt. since their seen as a necessity for public health. The ONLY reason big pharma was interested this time, is because WHOEVER came up with a vaccine to the first worldwide pandemic in over a century was gonna make bank, what did you think would happen in this capitalist driven society There are only three pharmaceutical manufacturers in the U.S. that even produce vaccines, and they handle all of bulk of them, The U.S. Dept of Health is not some sinister govt. controlled group, they are merely a patchwork of underpaid, overworked, medical professionals in each state, that constantly has their funding cut, and still literally conduct daily business using fax machines and old dot-matrix printers in many states. Even though the CDC is high profile and directly linked to the federal government, they're mostly made up of dedicated doctors and scientists. So if the doctors and big pharma didn't stand to gain from a fear campaign, then who, the lobbyists? Wall Street? Nope, it was basically one person , and that was our leader at the time, because he can't ever admit that he is wrong or made a mistake, and other politicians, who made millions off the stock market after getting the inside scoop how bad it would get. So that president and those politicians, used the growing mistrust in our govt, big pharma and corporation elites, a well deserved mistrust, to muddy the waters of the real science and the medical community, until the point people didn't know who to believe, or just didn't have the time or interest to do proper research. Bottom line, the vaccine was not rushed, it had been in development since 2004. We account for 4% of the worlds population, yet we were responsible for 12% of the worlds covid deaths, which could have been significantly reduced if it wasn't for the sheer incompetence and utter lack of concern from trump. Lock downs and getting vaxes were NEVER mandated, and people not being able to stay home a few more weeks to a month, with the support of the president, directly caused our second wave, and the contributing factor to the economy taking a dump worse that it would have. Also there's no quotes about fear and controlling of the masses attributed to hitler, there was several misattributed quotes from hitler making the rounds during pandemic though. Ancient Egypt was aware of fear being a useful tool for control, Roman philosopher Seneca once said “There are more things…likely to frighten us than there are to crush us; we suffer more often in imagination than in reality.” John Adams wrote.. “Fear is the foundation of most governments”, but then again, Thomas Paine wrote "For this young country to succeed it will require advanced citizenship at every level. Voting for your preferred politician once every 2 or 4 years will not suffice.
