absolutely. Floyd Mayweather is a supreme technical boxer, truly an all-time great. Most of his fights, he looks like he's got plenty in reserve too, he barely gets out of second gear. I can see why a lot of boxing fans don't like him - and he does box a little too defensively in my opinion - but there's no doubting his technical skills.
@slimithy1214 жыл бұрын
you can see why he loves the uk. people actually treat him with respect and just give him the chance to relax and feel like the true champion that he is. every interview he does in the states is like a police interrogation. yet they treat every other boxer like a hero, especially pacman. i really dont understand why the US hate him for being a show off when they promote that kind of behavior on tv and in hollywood all the time.

I thought Cotto did a good job going up and down through eight, but it took a lot out of him to do it, and after eight he started running out of gas. Castillo too did a good job working down and up. Definitely given his defense a body attack has to be included as a heavy part of any strategy to beat Floyd. It's what works against Pacquio, as his body attack isn't one of his strong suits anymore.

I'm not forgetting that. What I am saying is that there are reasons to believe that Pacquio could be a problem for Mayweather. Just as there are reasons to believe Floyd will be able to nullify Manny's strengths. The bottom line is what I stated already - the outcome is by no means assured.
@MADMAC57212 жыл бұрын
He fought two fights at a catch weight - Oscar and Cotto. Oscar is the one who called Manny and offered him the fight at 145. That was Oscars idea. Now Floyd fought Cotto after Manny pummeled him, but that didn't count. Sure, Hatton lost to Floyd THREE FIGHTS prior to Manny fighting him, Hatton did not take a beating in that fight. Yet when Manny annihilated Hatton, Hatton was now tainted. It's an inconsistent arguement. It's also irrelevent.

Manny fought Hatton at Junior Welterweight, where Hatton was at his best. Floyd fought Hatton at 147lbs, and Ricky was always too small for that weight class.
@MADMAC57212 жыл бұрын
You don't know that. Judah straffed him with straight lefts early in their fight, and his straight left isn't half of what Pacquios is. Anyone who knows this sport knows that ther are limits to predicting fights and lots of fights don't go the way people anticipate they will. You can not say "he won't be able to". You can only say "I don't think he'll be able to". There are no exceptions to this rule.
@michaels641112 жыл бұрын
No I'm not. I hope it doesn't happen, but too many boxers can't replicate that buzz outside of the ring, and do self destructive things while trying. Mayweathers actions suggest that he will be another to join that list. Please explain how I'm wrong.
@MADMAC57212 жыл бұрын
There's more out there if you look for it. Most observers believe that Floyd is fast enough, and his defense is tight enough, that he'll be able to frustrate Pacquio over 12 rounds and win a decision - and I too lean towards this. But Pacquio has a brutally fast and hard straight left, and if he can consistently reach Floyd with it, it will be a different story.

Floyd been duckin the champs, waiting til they washed up to fight em. TBDE - the best ducker ever.
@mikes252910 жыл бұрын
Shouldnt base fighters on the round they knock out opponents. David Haye knocked out Chisora.... Klitschko won on points against him.
@toneperez792510 жыл бұрын
Mike S When its a number of fights in the situation then it becomes relevant. Mayweather tested Hatton and it took him 10 rounds when it only took 2 rounds. On De La Hoya, Mayweather went the distance and to the cards, Manny stopped De La Hoya in 8 rounds. I've never seen Shane Mosley hit the canvas since the fight with Manny. Mayweather couldn't put a scratch on Sugar Shane. Mayweather had to go to the cards with Miguel Cotto. Manny stopped him in round 12. There's too many instances where Manny was the more impressive fighter and there is enough evidence that Floyd is duckin. David Haye and Vitali example yea its one fight but Manny and Floyd ??? theres too many examples to not call it, Manny is the more impressive fighter hands down.

Crazy how his face changes every single time Pac keeps brought up
@MADMAC57212 жыл бұрын
I don't think Hatton was strong enough to do that to Mayweather. I don't think it had anything to do with the ref. Hatton was able to use that tactic when he fought at 140, but at 147 I don't think he had the strength to impose himself on floyd physically. Floyd is not a strong welterweight, but stronger than Hatton who never campaigned there. And Floyd was in superior shape to Hatton for that fight. Hatton's lifestyle habits were catching up to him at that point in his career.
