People should keep in mind that *healthy* life expectancy in the UK is on average 63. Ask yourself, do you want to retire when your health starts to deteriorate, or sometime before then? If you want to travel in retirement, think of the cost of travel insurance. You'll need a pension pot of at least £350,000 to purchase an annuity (2024 rates) that pays a minimum comfortable income for life.
