Thanks for the walk through. It's a bit complicated. I could easily manage it but if I don't do it on a regular basis I could forget the process. While the low fees are great, there are a lot of associated gas fees to move in and out, especially transferring large sums. Even if I don't use it I like knowing the use cases for a token so if I'm only investing I can have a better understanding of it's value.

Does it need to first go back into your Meta mask wallet, buy USDT with your 1 ETH, then deposit back into Polygon? Or can this "swap" from WETH to USDT happen within the Polygon wallet?

So... if I understand correctly, once connected to Polygon wallet with Metamask, you could use the 'Receive' button to e.g. send USDT or USDC or whatever from an exchange like Coinbase or another person directly to Polygon wallet and bypass Metamask (and therefore any gas fees)? The earlier part of your example bridges assets already stored in your wallet but you could receive stuff direct instead?

The network name on your video is different than the polygon's website. They say it should be Polygon Mainnet also the block expolorer is different. It's November 2021, and I don't think this is accurate any longer. The options look different in the Polygon wallet, the Matic Mainnet is now called polygon, and trying to follow the process of sending Matic from coinbase to my MM is incurring outrageous Ethereum fees as opposed to the cheaper polygon fees one would expect. If there is a different process, please do a video on that, as I have Matic (among others) on CB I'd like to get OFF of coinbase.

the website is different, but the process is the same. the video is a little older, and the ETH fees were much cheaper back then. they've just gone up in price is all. however, it shouldn't cost that much to transfer off coinbase. it's a flat % they charge and not a gas fee, so if it's a lot you're sending might be much.

Polygon gets a thumbs down for me, helpful video for sure as I had a payment go through it and needed help, but I ended up paying more just to move it to the wallet it was intended for than regular gas fees.

Update: if you are using BITFLY to mine do not use this method, log into thier discord and go to the polygon channel theres a pinned comment there to get your transfers for a couple cents each.
