I really appreciate your style of teaching. You give very clear, concise explanations, while giving useful asides or tips, but avoiding digressing too far from the topic with a tedious and repetitive rant as many KZbinrs do. Also your editing is very clean, I've seen many videos waste my time by forcing me to watch the host get organized, or try to remember what they're supposed to be talking about (instead of getting their ducks in a row before recording or cutting it out of the final draft), but you seem to stay tightly on track making for a well thought out lesson. You're certainly a wonderful educator!

Dude, what a great video. I'm slowly trying to work my way up to being able to make a CRUD app and this was a vital step to doing that. Really well explained. I know JS well, I'm familiar with Node.JS (just getting familiar with all of the modules) and now I feel I have at least a good understanding of how a database would work. Should I start learning to make my CRUD app before or after I learn express do you think?

There is really no point starting to use Atlas right off the bat. It is far easier to just install mongo in a docker container for dev purposes. Keeps your system clean, unlike if you installed mongo manually, and you don't have to faff about with registrations and what not in Atlas. When you want to move to production, then you can setup Atlas or one of the cloud providers. Changing your app to use the remote database is as easy as just changing your connection string.

i made the cluster...i downloaded the shell...i unzipped it...found the application file in the bin directory...ran it ...the screen which opens up stays open just for a second and i don't have the time to actually read what's happening). Anyway if i use command prompter to actually go into the bin directory and paste what mondodb gives me on their site to establish the connection i get error message saying "the syntax of the command is incorrect"...a little help would be much appreciated. Thanks
@kartiknailwal25025 жыл бұрын
did you set the environment variable first? That could be making this issue. Actually I faced it too. But then do we even have to use that application? like Command prompt is doing all that's needed.... so i believe let it be?
