So the first DB technology I learned was called IDMS and it was a network DB with the principle clustering related data, all the IBM IMS people made fun of it, then the Oracle people, then again the IBM DB2 people as relational continued to rise in power with their math and related concepts that optimization would always be achievable. Here we are today, having gone full circle, data that should be accessed together should be stored together. This is absolutely comical for me!
