Have you ever been to a similar landscape to this? Let me know in the comments below and I can add it to my list!

if you're traveling to mongolia/ulaanbaatar, definitely go there during late June, early July when most of the people go to their summer houses so the traffic isn't a problem. also the city is way greener and livelier during those times + you get to experience the most important holiday, naadam

@@yolo1943 hey - thanks for the heads up and really good info. Will do that next time. Really enjoyed exploring out of the capital, but the traffic in Ulaanbaater is crazy. Really appreciate you taking time to comment as well 🤝

Hey thank you for the video :) Would you recommend visiting Ulaanbaatar if you were 2 girls traveling alone, let's say almost "on a budget" and who are not very interested in long trips to the mountains or desert? Is it worth knowing the city/museums etc for 3-4 days?
@gazwrighttravel2 ай бұрын
Hey - I did NOT find Mongolia unsafe or run into any trouble so it would be fine as two girls travelling. But that is just my experience and I am a 6ft 2 male, so I guess it could be different anywhere. I personally didn't 'love' the centre of Ulaanbaatar and found that the beauty of the country was outside of the centre on the wilderness. HOWEVER THIS IS NOT BUDGET FRIENDLY. What country are you from and what type of trip are you looking for, so I can make some suggestions :)

Hey - we just paid the driver who picked us up from the airport (booked through our air bnb). He was a taxi and not a guide. He didnt speak any english so if you wanted someone to tell you about the landscape etc I think I would bool a specific trip. If not let me know and I can try to get it from the Air BnB guy

Hey, nice video.. Did you try renting a car for self drive ? Would you have an idea how much that cost ?
@gazwrighttravel4 ай бұрын
Hey, we didn't but SIXT is usually pretty good for car rentals. THE roads were super straight but people drive really fast - so make sure you are a confident driver :) we went from ULAANBAATAR to the semi gobi and anything off the main highway would probs need a 4*4. Hopefully that points you in the right direction, but ping me with any other questions. Thanks, Gaz

What advise would you give a solo traveling to china
@gazwrighttravel2 ай бұрын
I loved our recent trip to China. I found it super safe, but if you dont speak the language it is very difficult to get around. I would have a plan each day of exactly what you are doing and how to get there. I have only been to Beijing, but will be going back in the coming years to explore all the other amazing places. Most of the apps on your phone wont work, so I would download apple maps and also the search engine bing. Is there anything specific you would like to know?

I'm from Ulaanbaatar, and the mirrored footage in the end really threw me off. All familiar places, but they look very wrong.

@@gazwrighttravel14:24 and on the footage is mirrored (flipped vertically). You can tell by the way for example the restaurant name signs are backwards. Anyway, I used to live right near where you were walking, and it just threw me off for a second haha. I hope I was able to explain.

So nothing about food ? And yes do the 3 museums in UB, then get outside the city. The national treasure is a must see, but complicated to get a ticket for.
@gazwrighttravel4 ай бұрын
Unfortunately I am severely allergic to peanuts and all other nuts. So I have to be really careful (I’ve been hospitalised already on this trip). When people don’t speak English I have to be extra safe. So I ate KFC ever meal. I love food and experiencing what types of things different countries cook - so I’m always gutted when I can’t try it. What are the top 3 Mongolian dishes for people to try when they visit?

Outside of Ulaabaatar it’s deffo more nomadic / yurt life. However in the city it’s super modern. The department store being the centre piece of that. The transport is what needs investing more in as it’s a nightmare to get around
