I find it interesting how the melody played on the Morin Khuur 'chases' the singer's melody: it creates a very distinct type of harmony. It's also intriguing that the Khuur doesn't do this the whole time but sometimes moves in contrary motion. The singer is absolutely amazing.

The praise for the sun is the name of the song. Mongolian long song is we inherited from the time of Hunnu (Xiongnu Empire). Long before Hunnu became an Empire, one of the Khaans had 2 beautiful daughters. People even say, 2 princesses are from the Sky. They were unearthly beautiful. Khaan decided to give back his daughters to the Blue sky, and at the very north of his territory, he built a high tower and left his daughters there. A few years passed, and one day, a wolf started living under the Tower. The younger sister said, "A few years pass , the Sky didn’t take us back, probably this wolf must be sent by the Blue Sky. So, she went down from the tower and married to a wolf. And children from Princess and wolf started singing , making sounds like wolf cry, which literally became Long song. 😊
