I’m so happy Monica spoke on what needed to be addressed bc I’ve seen so many arguments and debates on social media about who’s better, Monica’s energy wasn’t, Brandy trying to hard and blah, blah, blah. If you’re really a fan of them both, you’d know that’s always been Monica’s demeanor and personality. She’s always been outspoken and had a no taking mess persona, but is naturally sweet and an amazing person...while Brandy has always had the sweet, funny, caring, and genuine spirit. Brandy said she wanted to be a star and her mother made her one. Great decision. Brandy was the first black female artist to have their likeness made into a barbie. She had a relationship &mentorsip. She had a 6yr running headlining tv show. She had another tv show (thea), good image, , a list movie career, and feature on soundtracks. Brandy had an awesome career from age 12-22. 10yrs is an excellent run. Her career hit its 2nd stage at 24 when she was no longer a child anymore.miss sonya got brand to adulthood without being a drug addict and still rich. No one stole her money. When brandy wanted to be a star, she didnt understand she couldnt have it all. Give miss sonja a break. She loved her daughter and gave up her life for her daughters career and happiness.it probably destroyed her marriage too. Rayj is probably just like his dad.

I’m really glad you uploaded this because it definitely confirmed my thoughts. Monica’s energy was just consistent and real to her character. It’s crazy because while everyone else was feeling like she had an attitude, I felt like Brandy was doing to much at times, and that’s what made Monica look resistant. Monica was just vibing. Maybe that’s who brandy just is also. But I mean, this was the first interaction in 8 years of two people that never really meshed but had a last draw encounter. I’m just glad they talked and were able to do this for the culture. Side note. If she didn’t get paid for this, I Understand not singing much either.

Yes I had the same thought as you...I hate the way people have been dragging Monica for no reason...she seemed like the more genuine one to me...but I love both of their music...I just couldn't take those comments coming from her...

Kish 28 exactly.. I mean I understand letting the past be the past. But after an 8 year beef and a fight, there is no way I would have hung all over Monica and behaved the way Brandy did. People that go that hard are normally the ones saying the complete opposite when no one is around. She couldn’t even help herself. She brought up their fight and threw lots of shade. . Monica was just peeping the vibe.

That is the same thing I have experienced...the ones that's all up in your face and doing the most when they don't know you that well are usually talking the worst about you behind your back...I think Monica had her guard up a little...which is understandable being that Brandy has said shady stuff in the past...and like you said they haven't spoken to each other in eight years...those people that were dragging Monica are the same ones crying about who they found out was not their real friend...smh

Thank You! Brandy's slight extrovert character - made Monica look resistant when in fact she was forthcoming and opened up soon settling in. (Imo, Brandy's more social when she's putting on or feels she has to, for an audience). My brother described Monica as more confident from the jump & it was his first verzuz lol. Social media's crazy tho, while I was busy on cloud now thinking the majority's on a high after the beautiful celebration of both, I logged into twitter and saw the mad opposite/2 or 3 KZbin- music blogs Hating. (Was some haters towards both don't get it twisted), but found myself running to Monica's channel to feel the love again. 🙌🏾. I thought Monica was bubbly as she settled in, was dancing tryna get down in the battle. I didn't see what the naysayers were seeing, there was no hate just musical vibes, positivity & multi-talented vets at work. If anything, I saw a touch of subtle divaness from Both but with class. "Diva" doesn't have to have a negative connotation, you can be sassy or too much (Monica whilst composed lol) and it oozes out of you. Nothing new - she had this since the age of 12 😎. Anyway, if I'd been away from an old friend after 8 years I'll prob will be guarded tho I'm a bit good at masking it in my face ha, unless it was a huge thing. Still u learn to let things go. But it's the lady's face she still opened up! prob tired of being judged, so just decides to be herself. I got an openess from Monica as she broke down her songs and was an encourager to Brandy at points in the battle. (Watched a interview of her speaking about her early past) most ppl would of had a breakdown - the trauma she's been through! She's got a strength that is admirable, forthcoming & sweetheart altogether! Both did Great & made History, I'm sure Monica's enjoying the success! 😘
