Synopsis:
What if things could be different? What if you could save her? This question plagued the minds of most people after finishing the first act of DDLC.
The story begins shortly after MC confesses his love for Sayori on the day before the festival. something wakes him up in the middle of the night however, and prompts him to check on Sayori, stopping her before she takes her own life.
Salvation Remake is a mod that lets you see what a second chance could've looked like. A chance that, in some cases, we don't get to have.
The mod, while being Sayori focused, also gives the others, especially Monika, a chance to show their own stories as they all struggle to cope with the near loss of a beloved friend.
The mod puts a much heavier emphasis on friendship and trust rather than romance, and offers a much more grounded experience than the original does.
Would you be her salvation once more?

Dang i never feel bad for any characters in media but this is the closest ive been to crying for a fictional character in a media, in a very long time. Well maybe because at the end where monika’s whole memory got erased, it reminded me of the end of gravity falls where they erased the uncle’s memory to kill bill cipher and the group tried to make him remember which definitely made me cry when i was younger But yeah i do not regret checking out ddlc mods and im happy the first ddlc mod ive ever checked out was an amazing pick

i kinda thought it didnt because it said kernel access and monitor, monitor can be multiple things, but mostly refers to a way to be able to see the state of an operating system or resources of a specific software. What came to me was that monika was probably going to lose access to the console/monitor, and kernel, because thats the lowest level (think of it as the most powerful level of access), due to monika being able to see the reality tear apart and be able to interact directly with the base of the game. Its honeslty so beautifully written, it makes you wonder. What would happen if one human were able to just do whatever to the fabric of our reality? i, personally, would love to be able to get rid of that ability, pretty sure anyone would go bananas if you suddenly discovered that everything you care about is... in a sense, not there. Its really thought inducing lol btw, srry for any typos or mistakes, im sleepy af but this has me hooked good lol

Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaan. The end of this act was brutal. *SPOILER ALERTS* I think that Monika letting the reset continue is the greatest show of love not only to us The Player, but to her friends. Monika's secondary story has been very well handled, Let's see what awaits us in Act IV. I can't believe it's about to end, this remake has been brutal.

Spoilers (kinda) for the rest of the main story: I'm no expert in writing or anything, but I can easily tell that this blows the original mod out of the water. The way Monika's conflict and the story as a whole is resolved and wrapped up feels much more fitting of the term "salvation". Yes, there is some implied potential for Monika to eventually remember what happened, but the club nonetheless will be able to enjoy a true happy ending. It wouldn't be the same mod without a scene of Monika in that room talking directly to the player, but in this case it feels so much more natural and fitting of the story. That being said though, my favorite part of the original was the others learning the truth about their world and coming to terms with it. Even if it creates existential issues that may never realistically be resolved, there is something incredibly captivating about seeing the other characters all come to terms with the truth and what they should do going forward. I kinda wish they had an alternate ending where either Monika tells the others or someone like Yuri manages to put the pieces together.
