The fact that they released yet another 240hz panel and have the cheek to charge even more than the last one from years ago should tell people all they need to know about zowie

I would just get an OLED at this point. 360Hz at 1440p is doable. Only downside is that when you decide to play at a tournament, they'll downgrade you to a Zowie.

Would've been good to have a Dyac 1 vs Dyac 2 visual comparison. Especially considering no reviewer that I've seen thus far has been able to actually demonstrate the value in Dyac 2, and since Zowie are delusional enough to think that the change from Dyac 1 to Dyac 2 is worthy of a $100 USD price increase, a greater focus on that would be appreciated. Good video as always, weird product though.

Current OLEDs, without BFI, don't do anything to combat persistence blur caused by sample and hold. They are worse in motion than any monitor with BFI or backlight strobing. We need to push manufacturers to include BFI on their OLEDs too for motion clarity's sake
@griffin1366

BFI is better than OLED still but at $500 I agree. Only thing going for it is its 24.5" size which OLED doesn't offer.
@rickgear2579
@rickgear2579 5 ай бұрын
@@AnimeUniverseDE Have you actually seen an OLED monitor? 240 Hz has VERY good motion clarity and BFI is largely irrelevant at that refresh rate. Even 120 Hz looks great. BFI is fine if you are stuck at 60. I'm glad that ASUS included it in there QD-OLED, but using it comes at the cost of VRR and HDR. Still its fine for a game that you can run at a locked 120 fps, but can't hit 240 and that's a maybe. 240 no BFI >>> 120 w/BFI

@@rickgear2579 yes I have the C2 and have seen by how much BFI improves things. The C2 can use BFI at 60hz and while it flickers a bit at that refresh the motion is even clearer than at 120hz without BFI. It is really incredible, with BFI. Which is why I advocate for its inclusion

Yeah while fast monitors, these are now very prices when OLEDs are releasing. But new OLED monitors need to start releasing with BFI though. With VRR. I wouldn't be surprised for LCDs to really fall in price once more OLEDs get released. Just lately there was a 4K 1000Hz demo monitor, oddly it was using LCD but I expect consumer OLED 1080p 1000Hz as 4K 240Hz DFR mode.

I got this monitor and had to return after 10 min of gameplay, paying 450$ with discount to get a defect unit. In the center with dark pixels and Im glad I returned it. I dont know what is happening with zowie but all products I buy from them Its been complete trash. Only good product I had from zowie was like 5+ years ago with the EC2-A that still works and have less qc than brand new ec2-c copies I had. Another thing to keep in mind Dyac+ 2 or whatever will look good on blurbusters blur test or marketing zowie videos because in game is not that much of a diference. I have to agree with you and the comments paying full price on this specs is like buying apple products, 90% ppl using "professional" grade products will never make it pro level, better off enjoying better image quality than tryhard in games for nothing. Also even if you buy this there is still a chance to get defect monitor or dead pixels and good luck for the hassle to return it and live with it.

I would need to have my brain removed to pay anything over $300 for a TN panel in 2024. And that's pushing it at the high end. i feel like most of the people watching this aren't competitve gamers, i want the best experience playing cs and the least amount of hardware bottlenecking my ability to play well. 1080p, 240hz is plenty enough for a high level (faceit level 10) cs player, and my computer only pushed 300 or so fps on average at 1080, i don't want some expensive oled that first doesn't come in the 1080p resolution and not in a 24" size combined. I know that if i was to get an oled i would spend maybe double the price of this since i would also need to get a better gpu to be even able to push enough fps at the higher resolution. As i found it's not really that good to set custom resolutions significantly lower than the monitor (so 1080p native a 720p custom res would still look ok, but from a 2k native a 720p res would be not that great, which i have tested)

I have a tons of things to say but before that, thank you for giving us some informations about screens, like always. Well, first, i found that your Response Time chart is a little bit weird if i compare with my experience with this screen, two month ago, i mean, that's not sound really credible but i have some things to say about that. What i found weird is the high/premium OD performance in terms of response time and Refresh Compliance, how that can be so bad while i've used these two mode while i've tested this screen and it feels super smooth and instantly ? (did you try to redo these test or this is a one shot test ?) I found that very weird because some screen (240hz) that you tested with a "better" response time just doesn't feel like the chart in terms of responsiveness so i think there will be some "error" or things to take in consideration, in addition it is weird while we know that OSRTT tool and stuff like that are generally very accurate. It's very interesting tho, also custom OD 17 (your settings) compared to my custom OD 17 (the same) doesn't feel like 8.2% of overshoot but a little bit more, while 8.2% is green (so it's ok, you won't notice it) it is in reality not the case in my experience at 240fps constantly, anyway, hugely dissapointed about how the screen managed so bad the Refresh Compliance by beign a 500 dollars TN panel with only 77.3% (weirdly, this screen feels more smooth than some 85% IPS 240hz panel...so...yeahn i don't really understand.) anyway, this Zowie still have so much less overshoot than IPS competitor. Also, some people will maybe prefer the XL2566K (360hz version) but in fact, this screen have a huge problem of Coil Whine at 360hz (i've had 4) while the XL2546X doesn't Coil Whine at all. So bad that the old XL2546K (K, not X) are not in the Best GtG Performance chart to compare the old and the new. Things that you won't consider while testing : Comfort,Zowie are known to have a "perfect" stand with a "perfect" OSD, Black Equaliser performance are the best of the market and no one IPS panel can do that like Zowie, also Color Vibrancy etc The Armada from HP looks better on paper but i'm pretty sure it's less comfortable and less good to play on this screen than on the BenQ. About Strobing, i've made Alien Pursuit too about Ghosting and Crosstalk and we get similar results, so bad the screen is not compatible with Blur Buster Utility, like, wtf, the XL2546X have imho better strobing performance than the XL2586X💀and the Asus is the best, Zowie today really become dissapointing.

3:36 That's why it would be cool to have variable response time. Like for example set from 30 to 70, which means that from 30fps to 240fps in games it changes from 30 to 70 response time. That way the response time could be always in the best settings you want, to never see too many overshoots or bluriness ghostiong with movement.

Does ULMB2 still require a Nvidia graphics card? If yes it's a huge no, go. Nvidia is less relevant in esports...especially for gamers on a budget who just want the more FPS per $, because that's what matters there...

Old 1080p TN with 240fps + DYAC2 is 0.5ms blur and kills any OLED 1440p 240fps with 4.3ms blur at fast motion . That old TN is equvalent to 2000fps motion clarity. Like those proud 4K 240 OLED users when pixels are moving at 1000pixels/second speed they see 540p effective resolution its hard to explain to those people that 4K is only on static screens.

It's clearly time to retire TN panels, as clear as my old xl2546 is, which I've used for the past 6 years, they've completely dropped the ball with that asking price and panel tech. goodbye zowie, I've got a new 480hz oled, moneys well spent , and tbh,, I don't even miss using dyac, not even at lower refresh rates like 100~144hz where strobing still works flawlessly giving that crt-like experience.

Always liked Zowie's strobing tech but do any actual esport players actually use it? I doubt it. Those monitor companies don't seem to understand that strobing is more useful at lower framerates, it's better for AAA or retrogaming if anything since it makes 60fps looks like 130+fps. If you run a game at 240fps already sure you get even more clarity from the bfi but it's honestly clear enough without. In fact bfi/strobing could increase input lag slightly so serious players would actively turn it off to be sure.

I've been saying for years it is just marketing gimmick so I was right. They scammed you like Razer with their gaming headsets or keyboards. LOL. Benq is the new Razer, it is the same with their outdated mice without any sw cos muh latency. In fact, they use outdated TN panels and mice without sw support so they cheap out, don't have to support additional features and kids playing Fortnite and CS2 will purchase it. Back in my days, I had 75hz, cheap 5 euro worth black/white genius mice which broke after one year and then I purchased new one. Now, I have Razer Viper Ultimate and RMAing it every year as much and get a new replacement. Previously I had Logitech G900, it developed a double click. RMAed, got G903 hero instead, again developed a double click after 6 months and any fps with ADS was then uplayable cos it randomly zoomed in and instatly unzoomed due to double click issue. MY Corsair keyboard keeps breaking too so I am living on perpetuum mobile strategy, RMA the old stuff and use the money from the old one to purchase new stuff which will break within warranty period too, and repeat the cycle.
