From San Antonio Texas. I saw a video some time back of Arnel being called up on stag e by Peter C. To sing this song and another where he was invited to sing with Chicago as a guest. You know that not many singers who cover a song are acknowledged by the band they are covering. He is a superb singer.

He’s a singer, he has made a career basically standing in for the originals and giving the fans the experience they want. He’s got a great voice (though understandably aging), and seems happy enough to supply the vocals. And he’s keeping these bands on the road, earning.

Other than the long time it took to finally get to "Hard to Say I'm Sorry", this was actually pretty good. I could be wrong, but I think Arnel hit almost every note in the original key. Given the fact that this was a live performance and Arnel is over 50(I think), I expected him to suck. Far from it. Wow!

He's a talented singer that can cover a certain range of vocalist. What he is lacks is his own material or band. In today's technology, most anyone can find an audience.

Well he was plucked out of his country to be hired by the owners of a well established company (Journey), he recorded two albums of original material with them, toured the world for 13 years so far. If Neal didn't see those KZbin videos, Arnel would most likely be sitting at home still. I mean it really doesn't matter if he solo's off on his own and writes his own material. It doesn't make him any more or less respected by his peers. He'll always have a job in the industry as one of the greats whether or not Journey eventually retires. You can call him a super successful hired gun on steroids. He's not really lacking anything ultimately.
