Bali Vlog: NEVER Look a Monkey in the Eye in Bali.
My friends and I visit the famous Uluwatu temple, a place as majestic as it is full of... hairy surprises! This temple is renowned for its many mischievous monkeys, always on the lookout for shiny objects to steal, which they then exchange for food with the guards.
As soon as we arrive, we witness several thefts and attacks by these mischievous monkeys. Glasses, cameras, flip-flops... nothing is safe! The monkeys are getting bolder with the constant influx of tourists, so a word of advice: never look them in the eye, and keep your valuables well stowed away!
For lunch, we take a gourmet break in a small local warung to savor a mie goreng, a traditional Indonesian dish of noodles sautéed with vegetables, eggs, meat or seafood, and often enhanced with soy sauce and spices. A real treat!
The video ends with the spectacular Hindu show at the Uluwatu temple, known as Kecak. This fascinating show recounts the epic Ramayana, a Hindu mythological story featuring Prince Rama, his wife Sita, and the demon king Ravana. The dancers' rhythmic singing and captivating movements create a spellbinding atmosphere, perfect for closing our emotionally-charged day.
