MONKEY ATTACKED ME! - Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary, Ubud, Bali, Indonesia

Today Laura and I explore Compuhan Ridge Walk and Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary (Mandala Suci Wenara Wana) in Ubud, Bali, Indonesia! Although I didn't think Compuhan Ridge Walk was particularly special, it was still a nice activity near the city. The Ubud Monkey Forest was a ton of fun though and it was so cool to get to see the monkeys up close and interact with them. Close enough where one even left a nice poop streak on my back! #Blessed

Last time I was in Ubud in 1996 you could walk through the Monkey Forest for free. There was no pavilion either. My first trip in 1987 there were no sidewalks on Monkey 🐒 Forest Road. Great place. Been to Bali about ten times. Thanks for the memories. 👍👍🙂

@@JordanPike Yeah; the monkeys were all over Ubud back then. Even at the cottages you have to protect your belongings. I spent time in Surabaya buying handicrafts and months at a time in Ubud buying cargo containers of wood carvings. Bali changed a lot since 1996. I remember in the first trip 1987, I was in the Sari Club or Poppi’s /Pappy’s talking to a patron and he told me 15-20 years prior Kuta was mostly coconut grooves. In 1986 there were only a handful of people on line at immigration at the Denpasar Int Airport. More later.

Those trails are so gorgeous! I stay away from monkeys now because we saw some monkeys steal a couple's grocery bag in Thailand and then recently in Morocco a monkey grabbed my hair and pulled it.. so freaky lol. They're awesome to watch though!

I feel like they are just acting like monkeys. 😅🙈 I'm not sure about the species, but it's a sanctuary so they're looked after. I'm sure since they get fed all the time it changes their behavior a bit.
