This song is the best to describe Guybrush Threepwood and Monkey Island: It's epic, piratey, and apparently clumsy but actually genius.

Being able to "lose" the beat and pick it back up like the original track is difficult to do! Well done!

AndrewPlaysPiano You actually just need to slow down a bit, and then - once once're on beat the next time - immediately resume the original speed :)

This is what I love about the Monkey Island games (specifically the first two). It's a fairly short scene but the much is so beautiful, memerable and characteristic of the game, and in fitting with the scene. I can't think of a better soundtrack than this (and the first game) in any other video game. Wonderfully performed too. Thanks for the memories.

Ziemlich simples Lied, aber für mich seit 1992 und auch heute noch ein absoluter Ohrwurm! Hat wohl auch was mit Nostalgie zu tun...Danke auf jeden Fall!

I'm 9 years late to comment on these videos, but I'm learning piano and watching/listening to your versions of these absolutely phenomenal pieces of game music is so wonderful, in addition to being inspiring. I also want to give hearty thanks that you provide the sheet music! They're filling up my stack of mastery goals :D

such a good idea to use the metronom you reproduce even the intended imistakes that possibly a monkey could do if he was playing piano, which indeed makes it so special and enjoyable, because thoses mistakes are beautifull!

Wow! Thats just awesome! Thank you for all your vids! Could you please tell me what tracks from MI game is good for the beginners? I have learned the Scabb Island (map theme), but Woodtick is still difficult for me...
@w3sp8 жыл бұрын
Scabb Island and Jojo should both be quite easy to play. Aside from that the Organ Prelude (Mi1) as well as Cemetery, End titles and maybe Swamp should all be quite easy. Ghost Ship, Forest, Elaine Marley and especially the LeChuck theme are quite difficult - referring to my arrangements.
@Kapitan_Kit8 жыл бұрын
w3sp thanks)) and what about Woodtick and Stan themes?

Baki Comics Stan is easy, especially if you leave out the secondary melodic line in the right hand

So nice cover! Will you do cover of MI2 main theme? That would be awesome! I've done cover of camp fire music right after main theme, though quite long ago.
@w3sp10 жыл бұрын
Maybe, it's not easy rhythmically. I'll play&record it most likely, and then see whether or not I'm satisfied enough to post it on youtube. Will probably print out some more of my old sheets like Stan's theme tomorrow and make a quick recording of it over the next few days.

***** I use an Olympus LS-20M for recording since May 2012 ("Piona Paraphrase" was the first video recorded with it). Only recently I started recording the video seperately with my Galaxy S6 phone which doesn't only record at 1080p like the Olympus, but also at 60fps.

@@w3sp Thanks, i read it wrong, my bad. Btw how do you hit that octave at 0:49?? I can hit both A's fine but hitting F and C in between is goddamned impossible. Guess its a matter of hand size
