I think whomever is feeding that huge mother monkey is abusing animals, especially that one. Look at her and say that is not true. People are awful.

He just rolled off the rock, landed on the ground, and she turned away like it's not her problem, yet she wants to babysit him - and she could have held him, but chose to drag him by the tail across the ground multiple times. Some monkeys are intentionally abusive toward other female's babies and I still don't completely understand it.

As far as studies and researchers can figure the kidnappings like this that have some level of abuse but do not end with the baby dead, are done to show dominance. The kidnapper is of a higher rank in the troupe and will kidnap a lower ranking mothers baby, as the baby if it's female inherits moms rank at birth, the kidnapper will drag and hold it pinch it, nip at it, and sir right next to mom and refuse to allow the baby to go. All this is done to show dominance a kind of way of saying...Hey, I out rank you and I can take your baby and do as I like and there's nothing you can do about it. If the mother tries to get her baby back and physically fights with the higher ranking kidnapper she runs the risk of one of 2 things happening or perhaps both. 1 the baby could be injured or killed in the struggle, mom tries to hang on and the kidnapper is tugging away and the baby ends up with broken bones or dislocated joints or dropped from a high place. 2 mom runs the risk of pissing the higher ranking kidnapper off in the struggle to get her baby back and in doing so the kidnapper calls the rest of the troupe over. Since rank status is the 2nd most important thing to them only after food, the troupe as a whole could attack mom for being disrespectful to the higher ranking kidnapper. Mom runs the risk of being out right attacked or run off and band from the troupe. So she will sit back and wait till the kidnapper releases her baby and then take it back. There are several reasons why these kidnappings occur to show dominance, to cull the troupes numbers and some really aren't kidnappings they are babysitters just watching baby while mom takes a break or forages for food or whatever and the baby flips out cause it wants mom and that's it. There are some very good studies posted on the web if you search kidnappings amongst long tailed macaques etc. I've read a number of them and they explain a lot of behaviours we see in these videos and it makes it all that much more interesting to watch. @@jillstevenson7083 I do wonder if there’s a dominant gene in this troop that leads to the loose hanging skin - I don’t see any other monkeys that look this bad with this much excess skin, even if they’re morbidly obese. Like the old alpha female Jollyroll was fat, but had this huge curtain of extra skin too. Carla got a skin curtain. And now Jollyroll’s daughter Tara is getting the big skin flap on one side as she ages. Even in super obese troops like Amari you don’t really see older monkeys with that feature(Tima has a skin flap but she’s ancient and it’s quite small compared to Tara troop’s)

I think you are referring to Daniella because she was kidnapped and dragged across the rocks daily. But she didn't die from the rocks. Monkey Ashley brought Daniella out to the ruins FAR away from her mother. Before that and during that Daniella was scavenging and spelunking as a young monkey does. Just looking for bugs and things to eat. She wasn't being a bother to anyone. When Ashley dropped her off by the ruins Daniella was still just hopping around until she realized she was in the company of ANOTHER TROOP of monkeys. Once she realized this she started coo'ing very loudly. The VOs got the alpha male of the opposite troop worked into a frenzy once he spotted the outsider her fate was sealed. Dana was running as fast as her little legs could move her and she charged into the middle of a rival troop looking for her daughter fangs out. She found Daniella already dead. She had been completely gutted and the VOs stood there and watched her get torn apart. For views.

Sankra was a rouge male, outside of any and all troops, the VOs knew he was around and let him in to cause some drama for their videos but the fact that it went from 0 to 100000 in less than a second also meant that they were NOT in control of what was happening whatsoever and so Daniela was killed. She was still in and around the rest of Amari troop, where her mom Dana also was. She just happened to have wandered off without any adults and was caught out alone with no protection by a rouge male and so he took the opportunity to kill her. And it happened while the VO’s knew what was going on bc they wanted some drama to film for their shitty videos.

One month is about right before they Die.Charlee was Taken Aug 4 died Sept 9th.Kaya was a month in Kaylas hand and Helpo was with Cyclops one month.And Calvin was a little over a month.And Heidi was with kinnappers a month so they last 1 month or so and then Die.
