MONKEY WRENCH 2024 - ENDURO XC

Okay this one is hands down my favorite race of the season the epic "Monkey Wrench 100" it is fast and steep and usually has loads of people in each class, making it an awesome day of trading paint and position!
Class is Veteran Intermediate "A" Loop, off the start they did a dead engine visor on bars start and I was first off the line and pulled the hole shot up the start hill, unfortunately I could only hold my position for a couple of kms and got passed by a real fast dude who ended up taking the win at the end.
"A" Loop was 63kms long and I finished it in 2hrs 48mins in 12th position, missing my cutoff for a second lap by 18 minutes :( (I'll be back next year for that second lap)

Used to race the series in the early 90's and the Monkeywrench was my fave...couple podiums there. Fun to watch.

It sucks that the GoPro battery only lasts an hour and a half. The last half of the loop was way more interesting with the triple step uphill and the relentless downhills. Good footage anyway, thanks for posting.

Yeah definitely the last half had the switchbacks and those downhills were actually super interesting too haha love doing the monkey wrench 😁

Nice video and thanks for the upload ! I passed you into second at 3:36. But my hands always go to shit so you pass me again 😅 Guy who passed you downhill at 15:19 finished second but ran out of gas on his second lap as didn’t fuel up 😂

hahahaha that's awesome I love the battles, that sucks for the 2nd place guy Callum i think his name is. Looking at my gas level after the first lap if I could have done another I would've needed to fuel up as well.

@@Highlineenduro yeah Cal brain farted. Hes a weapon though should be in Expert all day. I had loads of fuel left but I was cruising for ages trying to get my arms to work 😝
