Watching this captivating video stirs up painful memories of the recent end of my 4 year relationship. My beloved partner chose to depart, leaving me with an unyielding ache. Despite my relentless efforts to reconcile, I find myself grappling with frustration and an inability to envision a future without him. Despite attempts to purge him from my mind, I remain haunted by his absence, feeling compelled to express my longing here.

You took it a lot further than I did. I recognized that narcissists who expect to get the upper hand will throw dominance tantrums like a primate temper display. This makes a lot of sense, though. Some treat us like chess pieces instead of vending machines, but it’s the same idea. When you hear someone shrug and say, “Someone is paid to pick up my litter,” or “it’s alright to steal from big stores,” or “I have such a good reputation, I can get away with anything,” or “I don’t know why some people feel the need to compromise to keep the peace, but it makes life easier for me!”* you know that you are talking to someone who doesn’t have to live in peace and integrity with their own soul, and doesn’t understand why you do. * These are all real quotes from people in my life.

The use of monkeys in this case is a great analogy to the problem with narcissism we face today. Extreme narcissism in 2024 is really an unseen epidemic. Historically most humans did not see themselves as special, but in the last 70 years or so, beginning with pop psychology books, children are raised to believe that they were special and that they would change the world. Today social media conveys that message with lightning speed everywhere. And while older generations have always criticized younger generations for thoughts and ideas that are different, it's now exacerbated by more of a technological gap, than a social one, in both willing dependence on it and it's perceived usefulness. But the source of the problem can be the answer if they use social media to create awareness of the pervasiveness and dangers of narcissistic behavior. However, I'd caution that we need more professionals to develop the messaging because it's a complex behavior and would be rope for cancel culture abuse.

I'm being forced out of my home because my obsessed, narcissistic, misogynistic neighbor who thinks he owns me can't control me so he's gotten his flying monkeys to gang up on me, deface my property, slander my name, and force me out of my home of twenty years. I know the damage these monsters cause
@davidestabrook5367Ай бұрын
I'm so sorry you were harmed by a narcissist neighbour. I'm having the same problem. My upstairs neighbours kicked my door, spit on my door, destroyed the raised beds in my garden, turned my garden into their ashtray, they've screamed from their balcony that they caught me recording their kids in the pool (all lies, as I don't go outside when their kids are out). They've repeatedly come on to my property, to mess with my plants, and put their stuff on my property, and they're doing a smear campaign. All of this was because I reported them, for making my hallway closet smell of petrol, from violating their tenancy agreement, by storing petrol in their storage cupboard, and for abusing their kids. I've documented everything, and am trying to get their kids rehomed, and them evicted. It's a truly stressful situation having these toxic and dangerous personalities living near you. So anyone similarly affected has my deepest sympathy.

my husband wasnt contacting me 14 days - and i had a fever that times - when i conflicted him with it - that i was hurt - about he didnt contacted me during i was have a fever for 14 days. 1. he see the confrontation as a threat against him. instead of : are you okay now? did your fever got better? or " sorry i was make you feel hurt " ( which implied emphaty what narcissists dont have ) - he answered me: " you had a fever and think you had it worser than me " - literally no joke. even i was hurt that he didnt contacted me 14 days - ( he was busy and simply didnt had a time,) he would not have enough emphatie to understand that even i " say it " that i was hurt. nor... he didnt had the empathie to " feel " what it might feel like to be not contacted by the husband for 15 days in a LDR. so narcissists lack of emphatie as long the concern is about another person. thats because imagine beeing a narcissits that would mean you only think about your own feelings. how would you be able to understand how it feels like to think about another person feelings? so the moment i said i was hurt he doesnt contact me 14 days it was none of a matter at all to him.

At around 12:30, the notion of police being trained in handling narcissistic abuse is absurd since 1) in the US they only get 6 to 8 weeks of training and none of that is de-escalation tactics and 2) most of them are dangerous narcissists themselves seeking power and authority over others. It's a nice thought but psych evals should try to weed these people out, but don't even factor in.

@davidestabrook5367Ай бұрын
It's not just childhood trauma that causes narcissistic personality disorder to develop. I read that spoiling a child by never saying no, that's the experience of other NPD's. But in another video it said that the new understanding is that NPD is caused by a genetic defect, it passes down family lines. So that's why it's so important to not get in a relationship with one, and to not keep the pregnancy if the father has NPD.
