I loved how the relationship evolved over time. In the first episodes, Leland treated Monk rather poorly, almost like he felt sorry for him. Later they became much more equal and the mutual respect between the two was evident. Levine won't talk about Buffalo Bill anymore because he's been asked too many questions about that role. I hope he never gets tired of talking about Leland, he nailed that performance and brought life to that character.
@Profile__1 Жыл бұрын
I think that rocky relationship in the beginning makes a lot of sense too. Apparently Monk was always a little neurotic but was still good friends with Stottlemeyer. However, after Trudy's death he escalated WAY UP. So Stottlemeyer in the beginning was both pissed and mourning the loss of his friend while also understanding why.

@@wrestlingchopshop Because its not true. In the first 2 season, Monk wipes his hands when Leland shakes it while Sharona could touch him and in later seasons, Natalie for example can also touch him without him needing wipes. Before the very first clip here (when Stottlemeyer’s wife was in this hospital after her car crash), Leland was always annoyed with Monk and his quirks. But during these trying few days, Leland could finally see the pain that Monk has had to endure since Trudy died and will have to continue to endure for the rest of his life. Leland’s character and level of compassion took an incredible turn and since this scene, as he started to see Adrian as a brother. And of course Monk saw Leland the same way…and proved it by chasing down a garbage truck without even thinking about it. That is brotherly love right there.

Funny Blooper too: When they open the casket, the candle wax had melted all over Monk's hand, but after the Captain says "I've never seen him look happier," his hand is free of wax and the left side of the casket interior extends past the edge of the casket, when seconds ago, it was just dirt to the left of the frame.
