I pulled for both and got both to e0 s1. Its worth it but i also didnt pull for a while to get both characters. Firefly is brilliant for Trotter adventure domains because you basically use her technique once or twice and kill all trotters immediately.

This mode is so reliant on break it's insane. Awesome concept, but it feels so luck based. Also, rubert curios. All 3 once collected give the occurence domain where it says "very low chance of 300 fragments 3 blessings" blahblah. So basically every new domain gives 300 fragments, 3 blessings, and I think 3 curios, and boosts damage in combat. Getting all 3, especially early, will almost guarantee a run.

If you don't want to play Break, then don't. You can play DoT with Nihility and Hunt (There is an equation that makes DoT Crit). You can play Ultimate builds with Erudition and Elation (the overcharged equation that gives you 200% Brain in a Vat). You can play whatever you want, whenever you want. No one is forcing you to play break if you don't want to. Also, G&G was aimed at Ultimate using characters, while Swarm Disaster aimed at Basic ATK characters. Every Simulated Universe update has a gimmick related to the characters released (DHIL for Swarm and Argenti for G&G).

Dude I fully agree... all the other paths other than Break Destruction just aren't balanced nearly as strongly - I haven't been able to clear Difficulty 6 with a literal E2 Dhil, with E0 Sparkle, Luocha Fuxuan, they just dont do enough damage against the millions of HP, while medium-invested E0 Firefly can easily clear D6 because of how broken those blessings and equations are... and this all without mentioning boss RNG, weighted curio RNG, etc.

Truly. Even if you manage to clear a phase one of three of the Final Boss, they will take their turn at some point and you will not be able to stop it. And based on my runs, the only blessings that make me survive those one-shot hits was the stupid Grit mechanic from, SURPRISE SURPRISE!! Destruction blessings. Honestly, I loathe how stupid they wanted to showcase Firefly in this patch. From AS and this DU, it's just so apparent that they clearly designed everything for her. I've made my decision already to skip her this patch (and forever) given that her kit is too overtuned for normal play and no enemy in DU counters her. It's like DHIL all over again with Swarm Disaster. I exclude Acheron in this narrative because her kit wants you to work for her Ultimate by consistently applying debuffs before her turn. Firefly, on the other hand, is more selfish and provides immediate stupid amounts of damage with little to no set-ups needed. Sure, other Paths have been viable in my Protocol 6 clearances, but it was just so apparent that using Firefly in DU guarantees you THE win. She's a no-brainer character, pretty much like Neuvillette in Genshin Impact. You don't use any skills because she's practically the solution to any problem. Honestly, having Boothill was miles better if you want a single ounce of thinking, because even from his Trial and Galactic Baseballer event, you have to use your mind and think who to use his Ultimate with to implant Weakness and shred them. With Firefly, you pretty much get her Ultimate in an instant, use Skill Point to reduce Blast area targets' toughness, and you're good to go. It's just pathetic, really.

I heavily dislike how this Divergent Universe is whole centered around Firefly. In DU enemies take 3-4 times less dmg untill you break their weaknesses. And also instead of making another path dedicated to break teams, they filled up my fav Destruction with break bulls**t. While other teams barely doing dmg, Firefly almost oneshots bosses. I'm not even talking about Apocalyptic Shadow where you also need to break weaknesses. Okay Hoyo we get it, you need to sell her, but don't you think it's too much...? Or it's just me who is getting insane after all this rng based runs with my f2p Acheron and Dan Heng IL lol... My Blade can't even do anything... Damn this is very painful...

Agree, I thought that Acheron already pushed the limits by making all content in her patch completely revolve around her and genuinely being too op, but this shit isn't just "new break playstyle encouragement" it's straight up requirement to beat apocaliptic shadow and DU. This meta also makes already broken Ruan Mei straight up unstoppable machine while other event support don't stand a chance compared to her rn. Of course things would change, and firefly teams won't be as op as they are, but holy fuck I already see new broken support for her that would use superbreak mechanic. And in couple patches cycle continues by requiring another new mechanic to beat endgame

Rubert curio give you 3 curios, 3 blessing and cosmic frag every time you enter a domain (most play is getting rubert curio early and try to get the imperial legacy occurrence late as possible)

I normally love simulated universe even the gold and gears because they’re so many different strategies. but divergent universe feels absolutely horrible to play, you can’t reroll and your run is always rng. you don’t know what boss you’ll get at the end, so you can run a team just for it to be deemed obsolete at the end. I can have a follow up attack made, and then scrapped because Robin keeps getting picked by aventurine and dying,l. All the bosses except for the green spirit feel impossible, and that’s because that one doesn’t buff itself. Excessive conversion is hard even when your at the very end, and you can lose the 5 star equation if you get unlucky. The weighted curious aren’t that good, and only work in niche situations. Everything feels really frustrating and you can’t min max without rng screwing you up.

No matter how good my run starts, if i get this "Dreamdeath" Boss who knock out your characters temporarily, i can restart already at this point, unless i have the Crowd, which allows me to win automatically. I actually can play every endboss except the Swarm.. because their are too many and my Fu Xuan starts sweating to survive even with Aventurine. Honestly.. the Most unfun Mode, fights taking over 10 minutes and even if your Run starts "Perfectly" you can restart by specific bosses again.. so frustrating. I Hope they extend Gold and Gear in the future and listen to some peoples Feedback.

Honestly, I really liked this mode. But then I realized all his randomness and unfriendliness to any commands other than the FUA or BREAK. I have a firefly with its own lightcone. It's sad to see how the blade even protocol 4 barely passes. I also don't have ruan mei. This mode is literally made entirely for firefly and boothill. More for firefly. I'm very sad to see my favorite character(firefly) They want to sell as best as possible. So much so that they are making a new mode for it (illusion of the end) and a divergent universe. I love this game and will continue to love it, but I don't like that it relies so heavily on the meta. Yes, I have a firefly with its own light cone, but without ruan mei she feels much badly than with. They did everything too cleverly, thanks to which they will now sell well not only the firefly, but also ruan mei. I repeated myself too much, but I'm sorry, I'm really upset that the game is literally starting to adapt to the meta. At least before it was not so noticeable.

Honestly, it's the poor balance that kills it. The fundamentals of the mode are good. With regular SU/Swarm/GnG, the fact that your path and team are locked in at the start of the run makes a lot of decisions really linear because there's often only one choice that actually synergizes with your path and team anyway. You get a lot of blessing choices that are forced picks because only 1 blessing actually does anything for your team and the other 2 blessings are just dead. Those aren't interesting choices. With DU, the fact that you can change your team and equations mid-run should give more room to adapt on the fly and have more interesting decisions. But the imbalances end up killing a lot of that adaptation because forcing the Super Break or FuA is just so much better than everything else anyway. The core concepts behind DU only work if different strategies are balanced and they aren't. EDIT: Also, with all the effort that went into rebalancing Blessings, I actually wish they did more to make more blessings useful off-path. On any given run, more than half the blessings don't actually do anything for your team because they're narrow buffs for other strategies. E.g. getting DoT blessings or FuA blessings when you aren't playing those teams is worthless so any time they show up, they're not actually a real choice. They could have done more rebalancing to make some of those narrow blessings more universal, but it seems like they were more interested in nerfing good Blessings. The fact that we have less ability to reroll these niche blessings makes the fact that they're dead off-path even worse.

GnG is miles better than DU, and even if it was catered to argenti a little bit, numerous other team comps and strategies were also opened. Unlike this SU, so many rng with the last boss usually taking so long its boring to go through them.

When I see "mono quantum" I thought someone figured out a way for Seele but no it was Qingque, now I truly believe even the best equations can't save her lol. Anyway you can also use Sparkle technique to catch trotters without getting noticed. I haven't pass so still consider using the Boundary Equations which seems to help a lot . Great video!

First off, another great vid, element! I love DU…. because I have ruan mei and acheron. They’ve made the mode so limited 5 star dependent that trying to play the mode with f2p characters is the REAL challenge. I was able to get through threshold 6 with a team full of 5 stars (boothill, ruan mei, huo huo, and acheron) but the moment I tried any f2p combos (did best with march 7th, asta, xueyi, and natasha or I would rotate Gallagher in.) i could BARELY get past threshold 2 (it’s all rng based making it even harder) and even then I only had one character alive. I’ll admit I very obviously don’t know how to build teams so that’s also a part of it, but it isn’t f2p friendly considering it’s geared towards not only firefly, but specifically super break/ break dmg teams too. I relied heavily on the fact that xueyi ignores weakness with her ult to combat the absolutely random bosses. Oddly enough, following your solo gng strategy with the curio dice, very VERY loosely since there arent dice in this mode, helped me clear it.

I've just finished a Protocol 6 run with a Propagation team (Dan Heng IL, Luocha, Aventurine and Quingque) against Argenti who doesn't have Imaginary or Quantum weakness. And damn, it felt insane when you can apply spore by doing literally anything: gaining/spending sp, gaining shield from like 6 different sources, aventurine's follow up attack, etc. The run was pretty slow but not too slow to reach beserk stage. I think the goal of this Divergent Universe is to get as many Equations as possible because their buffs are insanely powerful. Despite running both Qingque and IL, the SP wasn't a problem with these Equations's Buffs

I wish I had a Aventurine. I have E2 Dang Heng IL but haven't been able to clear because even Luocha + Fuxuan duo sustain just doesn't cut it against later bosses, and my damage also tanks alot with 2 sustains. I can't make any consistent use out of Preservation blessings either because of this, and there are too many bosses that directly counter healing too.

Managed to beat it, key is remembrance path. I had to use E6 Acheron but it's possible to do without it, but might struggle in earlier stages with breaking weakness. Freeze and Dissociation blessings and equations did amazing job. I do not know names but equations were 3* remembrance hunt 2* remembrance abundance and destruction remembrance and 1* remembrance erudition. It causes HP loss but destruction blessings with Fu Xuan and erudition and propagation blessings which heal were barely enough to keep alive. Also without 3* enhanced erudition blessing which gives 100% brain in the vat it would not be possible and 3* enhanced remebrance blessing freezing every 5 attack (despite SAM having crowd control resistance it's possible to freeze him), but I'm finally free Diff V protocol 6 is done

i liked DU until i tried challenging the higher Thresholds and realized how terrible the rng is. i understand that it's supposed to make you dynamically change your teams depending on what you're rolling, which in theory, creates a gamemode that has you thinking on your feet- but when everything eventually leads back to break or fua, it doesn't feel fun anymore. not being able to apply a weakness type too in a gamemode that very clearly requires you break the boss makes it feel even worse cuz unless you're running firefly, boothill, or silver wolf, there is a very good chance the random final boss just shafts your whole run cuz you're not matching weakness types. "just change your team to match weakness" well, my equations/blessings don't match the new team, so now what? and that just sucks so bad lmao

Had the most ruthless run, went with mono quantum, got ruan mei part 2,run was going well but I forgot that I got the lotto curio from her and destroyed some technique points/health points at the 2nd to last domain and lost all my health... I was FURIOS since I didn't have any blessings/curios to bring health from the beginning and wasn't planning on restarting the run since it would take 50 runs to have half as good as that one. I got the eye boss, tried every character to see if it works, huohuo did some heals with the ult so I just went with her, Acheron, RM and FX. Did one try and I died at the end and I almost furiously quit but I tried it again and I somehow did it. The only problem is this was only threshold 5 lol.

i genuinely feel the firefly bias so badly in DU, i always end up having to use the same break team everytime i want to advance a protocol level, i only just barely cleared protocol 5 with my black swan + guinaifen team and REALLY lucky blessing/equation rng they did so much right with auto leveling characters + gear letting you experiment a lot more than even in gold & gears but what's the point if any team you form even with 5* characters does a fraction of the damage that a firefly team does. and for f2p's if you dont have her signature, or an e6 xueyi you're fucked

Honestly this gamemode is consistently enjoyable if the Synchronity level is unmaxed cuz even losses still lead to more rewards and upgrades After that though the RNG is too much to consistently get good runs Honestly i think this entire gamemode's problems could be fixed if we had more domains to work with, 13 domains is far too low to get realistically good runs without having ridiculous luck and near impossible to get Boundary Equations I'm just hoping this is supposed to be the equivalent to regular SU and we get SD and G&G-type gamemodes using the DU layout cause really the new equation system and the boundary equations are super fun to use but ssdly incredibly tedious to get their full potential

My most favorite SU of all. I can try all type of team (DOT, hunt hyper, freeze, supa break, full reserv team, follow up) to finish diff 6 cause they give all char to lv 80. They give us free change for team to adapt for equation and blessing we had. I immersed and always retrying with different path equation even after clearing. It such a great experience

For blade, try running him as a FUA unit with Physician Advisor and the dewdrop equations with the one that takes hp for ult damage. For my Blade team, i ran RM, Blade, Xuyei/any flex and Loucha.

As much as the DU is built for firefly, it's also built for xueyi and boothill, and depending on the boss there are also non break teams you can use- I know because I've done it. Is it the same kind of quality as GNG? No. Is it a bad gamemode? I don't think so, new characters will always come out and firefly won't be queen of the crop for long anyways. And personally, I think the new curios are the best addition we've had in SU since erudition path

I think this gamemode had great concept but bad execution with too much firefly shill, I think if they wanted to shill FF/break teams just crank up their own damage numbers instead of cranking up the difficulty for everyone else

I’m ngl I really like this game mode. I think GnG got pretty brainless (still think it’s the best mode in HSR) so it’s a nice change of pace. The RNG does suck sometimes but I like the feeling of adapting to it. I think there should be a better system for weight curios and a way to pick the boss you fight tho

Defensive blessings helps tons. Im also E1 aventurine so you can spam skill more on aventurine if needed

I was originally going to pull for e1 ruan mei but this game mode made me pull for firefly just to reach and complete protocol 6 because my dot team doesn't do anything in protocol 4 but atleast I can have a chance full clearing apoclayptic shadow once I finish building my firefly and gallagher

Honestly the one thing that frustrates me most about this game mode is how random it is. I’ve got Firefly and Ruan Mei and I was even lucky enough to pull FF’s E1 and LC but the randomness in DU makes it so that even with all that, if luck isn’t on my side I won’t make it past the first boss. Base SU atleast gives you the option to reroll blessings everytime you get them, but here not only is that not an option, but the price of rerolling at the workbench increases each time meaning if you don’t have an insane amount of cosmic fragments, forget trying to get the blessings you want. And all that’s not even getting into the equation randomness. They’re such big power boosts that they’re pretty much required to beat the mode but if you get ones that don’t synergise with your build you’re gonna lose for sure. It’s really frustrating endlessly restarting and not getting the right equations over and over again. Atleast with the 80d timers on it I think they’ll keep updating this mode so hopefully they’ll take the criticisms and improve it

It really is weakness focus break. it's possible with other teams but you really really got to get lucky. I think Swarm and G&G are leagues better than this game mode :/

Maybe its my experience from GnG but nah divergent is way harder. No cheese strats in divergent. You can clear GnG with just f2p characters and freeze spamming

I would personally disagree, specifically because of the rng itself, in my personal experience it just got hard on the last lvl, and I tried so many teams (clara, dan heng IL, archeron, etc.). and as many other people, its just not enough dmg unless u go break effect. Trying to get the blessing u want without any reroll or just deppending on rng literally on everything, the wealth domains, the occurrences, the blessings since u cant refresh, the equations, literally everything is rng. I manage to beat it easily with DoT's team tho (BS, Ruan Mei, Guinaifen and Fu Xuan) but it still was such luck on the whole thing itself rather than GnG which I got though all the levels easily, lvl 12 was the one that got me stuck but I only had to restart the battle not the whole try itself which I had to do PLENTY of times in this new version. also not being able to pick the boss to fight and u not knowing it because surprise, surprise its also rng, just sucks a lot, i had to restart so many times with clara because i kept guetting bosses that dont hit or with BS when i got the final boss to be the swarm disaster bug which is resistant to wind (which happened to me 3 times aka 3 wasted runs) I saw in another comment u got through lvl 2. Hopefully u managed to get through the other ones!! :D.
