More control-oriented decks play slower games and your opponent will almost always get to six lands or more when playing standard. You're only going to get those quick kills with a more aggressive deck.

Urza's Sylex also exists to blow up lands if you ever want to go full sinical mode

The funny thing about the sylex is that people will 99.9% of the time sac their basics and keep the multiple-color producing lands, which you can then blow up.

This is a different way to build a white land destruction. Myself I when. Step 1: find way to put +1/+1 counters on creatures. Step 2: Turn the threat or land into a artifact with "Liquid Metal Coating". Step 3: Eat the counters though "Hopeful Initiate" of just start bouncing "Loran of the Third Path" like a 64 Chevy.

Ranking planeswalkers in a vacuum setting is incredibly challenging. Some planeswalkers are insanely good only if you build your entire deck around them, like the new Tyvar for example. While some others, like the Wandering Emperor, can pretty much go into any deck that plays white and be good.

I'm usually not "that guy", but whats the deal with letting Veteran alive so long that its able to put 2-3 counters on stuff? That just seems like a recipe for disaster in the couple games you did it, especially in a deck with no Sweepers besides 6 mana Emperor.

Jip. Mono white 80%, mono red 15% and white with splash of some color 5% for legendary creatures. No other decks. White is just over powered. This is a trend by WotC. They love white and hate green. White has the best removal, best midrange cards, best sweepers, best plainswalkers, and now even cheapest big creatures. White can asaign abilities, anthem armies, remove enchantments and artifacts, exile and draw cards, gain life and deal direct damage. Its just stupid. No wonder everyone plays white. Who needs other colors when one color does everything.

@@yavivanov6650 black cant go wide like white, black cant do midrange value like white, black does not have protection like white, black cant destroy artifacts and have limited enchantment destruction. White can do everything black does and still maintain/build a board presence with a single card, eg. Brutal Cathar - removal and 2/2 on board, Wedding Announcement, 1/1 every turn and draw and anthem, etc. Black will require a combo of cards to do that. Yes, black is powerful but not nearly as much aa white is currently and as powerful as it has been in the last few sets. Black had a short power run, but quickly got halted when the next set got released.
