i put together a preview for those of you who havn't seen the series yet.
Before watching "mononoke" you should watch the last 3 episodes in the series "ayakashi-japanese classic horror"

They probably used 3d models and rendered the whole thing to look 2d and added a lot of textures(which still takes a lot of time, but at least the animators don't have to draw it all frame-by-frame.) But I don't know how advanced that technique actually was in 2007, when Mononoke was made...

@@yukid2414 probably just the background settings and the scales in the show were 3d, the rest was just 2d and rotoscoped since everything is just flat colours with very little shading
