They have to keep them stocked. I hope they like shoveling sand. Doc may just buy them out. And if more sand permits drop into the economy, the price bottoms out while everyone is striving to collect more to stock their shop. The only solutions are to shovel sand and keep moving farther out to find it or jack up the price to ungodly levels to discourage a purchase. "16 sand for 64 diamonds, now no one will buy it and I won't have to restock." The only trade for sand is via the wandering trader and he'll only sell 64 before locking the trade. This is going to be fun.

Fun fact, I made that bee farm in 2 hours with my friend @JustGlotz and we didn't fully test it because we both had to leave We later found a big problem with it, but Doc had already built it on Hermitcraft 💀 We've fixed it, but now it's a completely different farm, it was easier to just start from scratch

DOC you should try considering this idea(just a suggestion)- initially sell logs for cheap (with prior notice about the prices to increase gradually and inflate the price)which first will make the log buyers and the sand seller(possibly the miner too) really happy . Then gradually increase the price for logs so much, that it becomes difficult for the sand miner to manage the shop , thenafter offer the sand seller a deal he/she couldn't refuse and would likely accept due to the stress of maintaining the stocks.This way the currency you created(i.e. sand),along with logs will be your sales item. NOW THAT would be a GOAT level monopoly ,if nothing goes wrong.

It's worth noting that unlike honey bottle farms, honey comb farms don't require a power level readout. The dispensers don't shoot out the shears like they do with empty bottles, so an observer powering the dispenser is all you need.

The best part of watching a series, whether TV or Hermitcraft, is the evolution of the characters and ideas as it progresses. The shopping district deeds, trading, monopolies, and currency is a genuinely tremendous idea!! Makes the “economy” of the server almost like a new character itself.

With the automatic postal service, you could make a "webshop" so hermits can order logs and rails from their bases! If they send a shulker with the payment, their stamp, and perhaps a named note indicating the type of wood they want, their order can be fulfilled fully automatically.

Hey Doc, seeing this seasons definitely not Shrek theme... It reminds me of a Chinese novel I read a while ago translated, where even before translation the academy the main character attends is called Shrek academy. It is named so because in their description, Shrek is a monster that does not fit in the norm, and the academy didn't accept normal students or even talented students, but only monstrous students who could break the norm. At least to me, you definitely fit the bill to be a Shrek, the monster of Season 10 outpacing everyone else and breaking the system. Love the movies thanks for being awesome. 💜 Also, Happy Birthday Doccy! 🎊 Finally, the novel is Soul Land 1 if anyone wants to read it. It's definitely recommended by me.

Doc, I have an idea of how to truly monopolize woods. At first, give everyone a deal like this: "You can't build your tree farm but you can buy wood from my wood shop at 10% of the original price". after that, you can put 10x the original price. With this, you can get your price back while no one can build tree farms.

It's not impossible to get the permits from Beef and Skizz, and you can't afford to compete because they will sell their logs for diamonds, meaning people will buy from them because they'd rather not pay in sand. You'll have to make some sacrifices if you want a full monopoly, however - you must make Big Salmon an offer which they cannot refuse. You could offer to trade one of them the dyes and flowers in exchange for the log permit, and for the other (or if they don't accept), you could offer to give them something like 75% of the earnings from the log permit. Think about it - it's not that bad because 1. You could charge more sand for these logs so that customers are more likely to buy other ones and not profit Beef and Skizz, and 2. It will be very much required but more of a "throw-in" or a permit of lesser value to your monopoly, securing the lack of competition. If the deal needs to be sweetened even more, you could sacrifice dirt and/or rails, but only if necessary. You might have to end up with only log permits, but if you are intent on the monopoly it is a good option because then you can sell it all for sand, and even one singular competitor selling logs for diamonds will drive out a large portion of your business.
