Monotype Printing with Akua Inks

Susan Rostow, inventor of Akua Inks, creates a large scale monotype using Akua Intaglio and Liquid Pigment Inks. Various stages of process are featured, including innovative reductive/additive techniques, using Akua Modifiers to alter viscosity/transparency, and printing multi-overlays. Akua Inks' unique working properties are highlighted throughout the demonstration including their extended working time and soap and water cleanup.

I know it has been awhile since this posting but I want to thank you for posting it. It makes me realize that an instructional video like this can inform the viewer of what the presenter is doing and with what materials, but it cannot inform the viewer of why these choices are made...so many years of practice are behind the decisions to do what they choose to demonstrate.

This looked like a very attractive creative process - and I really liked that you also used brush work in stead of only mechanical equipment of different sorts. To me it makes an image more interesting, more filled with true movement and breath - more embodied, so to speak. And a great working space you had created. Very inspiring
