Monport 40- My First Upgrades!

hello quick question how do i connect te chiller afterburner and the laser all together

Here's what the manufacturer recommends: Connect Outlet of laser machine to Inlet of Heater, Outlet of Heater to Inlet of Chiller, Outlet of Chiller to Inlet of laser machine. The Monport 40 machine uses smaller cooling lines than the Heater and Chiller- some plastic inline adapters will be need- I think they're 1/4 to 3/8. Thanks for watching!

Hello quick question I watched your other video doing glass but on your experience wich machine is better for glass engraving I have a 10w diode lasers and I am thinking either get the 40 w monpart or upgrade my laser to a 20w thanks

Hi- I've engraved glass with a laser diode in both 10 watt and 20 watt laser modules. Both work well when using a masking agent- the 20 watt laser module completes the task faster. I have not engraved glass with the Monport 40 laser yet- I do know that the Co2 laser on the Monport reacts better with the glass making for easier engraving- Co2 laser users reported using simple dish soap or a wet paper towel as a masking agent. The next videos scheduled for the Monport 40 include engraving glass. I do love the Monport 40 on clear acrylic- engraves and cuts through with ease- not masking agent need!

How hard was it to route the air assist hose, etc?

Not hard at all. I used some twist ties from some power cables to attach the airline to the energy chain (my airline did not fit inside). I ran the airline out the back of the machine through an existing hole. It's a nice upgrade to the machine!

I strongly dislike companies that employ or use False / Misleading Advertising & Marketing to sell their products. That so called unit you call a "Chiller" is not really a Chiller. All is does is bring the water temperature down to the ambient room temperature. It does not bring the water temperature below the ambient room temperature, which is what a true Chiller does. At best, that unit should be called a Cooler or Heat Dissipater.

You hear you- I don't think it's false advertising- it does cool the water temps down to near room ambient temps. I agree 100% with you the words used to describe the unit- I think a water cooler or heat dissipater is a better way to state the unit- something to let buyers know it does not contain a refrigerator unit. @@thelaserchannel1 A couple of other comments / observations: a) "... and I want to make sure that I protect the investment in my machine, ..." -- LOL - What investment. You stated earlier: "... I just want full transparency to let you viewers know that this is a sponsored video." A sponsored video usually means that they give you the product(s) for FREE, in exchange for a positive review of the products. Sometimes they might even pay you a little for the review. b) In looking at and studying the Monport Laser very closley, it appears that they took the OMTech K40 Laser design and made minor changes / modifications to it, then slapped their name on it. Even the colour combination is quite similar. It is so sad that companies (especially Chinese ones) do this, rather than come up with their own original designs.

@@alpscraftshack599 Hi- you have all valid points- Yes, the video is sponsored and I have the freedom to say my full opinions on the machine good or bad. On your second point- this style of machine is also called a K40 machine (you probably already know this) and the frame, drive system, and exhaust system are all virtually the same. The differences are in the details like the controller board and display. The machine in the video has the Lightburn compatible controller board and has a digital display of the Co2 tube mA power and an adjustment dial to when aligning the mirrors.
