I watched a number of these unboxing and setup videos on this Laser. You are the only one (out of the ones I watched) that explained the focus guide. I see it in the manual, but the pictures in that manual look like they were taken in the 60s. Great content. Thanks for sharing.

Putting mine together. I'm at 1.75 gallons of distilled water and I'm finally about middle of the halfway point. It took a very long time for the water level to register, I thought mine was busted. The clamps for the hoses are junk. The screws act like they're stripped and would not close, so I'm off to the hardware store for replacements.

Waiting for my K40 to arrive from Monport, but in the meantime, I see at 3:20 or so you show the external ground on the back panel, but in parentheses it says (not needed in the USA), why is that? From most of the other videos I've seen on K40 units it's highly recommended to ground this machine to an earth ground for safety.

You talk a lot about the chiller but it should be noted that it does not come with the laser, it's an extra $180. The air purifier too.

What is the correct method to ensure you are setting the correct power % on this laser? The Monport manual says : “Laser Power Display: This displays the current power of the laser as a percent of its maximum intensity. Adjust this setting accordingly to process various material s . For most material s, an intensity between 20% and 60% i s optimal . when aligning the laser beam, you should use a setting lower than 30% for safety reasons . Remember: Running your laser tube above 70% power can significantly shorten the laser tube's lifetime (We recommend staying below 70% power to prolong the life of your laser tube)” So I can only assume there are 2 ways to run the power on this machine. (1) If you run the power knob like the manual says, you then must use 100% for all operations IN THE SOFTWARE, and thus control the % of power with the knob (and make sure it never goes above 60% or you damage your laser tube). - OR - (2) Turn the knob to 100%, and control actual % of power via the software settings. Since my Monport K40 power display shows mA, and NOT % of power, so I’m not sure how you can set “20% to 60%” power (as per the manual) by using the display gauge. Any folks out there have the actual answer as to which method is correct? Thanks

I received my laser several weeks ago. I got everything set up and I have engraved some acrylic, however I have not been able to get the laser to cut through the acrylic, anyone have any suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong.

In this video from about 11:00 - 12:00, you show the mA knob read a value of 18 or so when the emergency stop is lifted. You are then able to turn down the mA reading through various numerical values until it reaches 0mA. The ammeter on my machine doesn't show anything other than 0mA unless it is burning. How is your mA display able to show a power reading without th4 laser burning? Order #2450 dorect from Monport.

I will be purchasing one of these in the very close future. I’ve seen many different versions of this model but I want the one compatible with lightburn. I’ve seen a model with wattage adjustments all the way down to a tenth of a watt. Is the water chiller worth it or could I get away with the pump and ice cubes in a bucket? They are sold out of the fume extractor and I want one of those. I currently own an xTool D1 pro 20 watt. I’m currently having trouble finding the right tension of the x and y axis to get a round circle. Do you have a code to get a discount for this engraver? I look forward to engraving my own metal business cards as well as making drink coasters and other small projects. Thanks for all your help.

I received mine and the chiller but will try and connect the laser to my laptop. How much algicide do I need to add to the water? How much anti freeze as well? I may wait till the weather gets warmer before operating the laser.

No yongli tube as mentioned in the video, water chiller is 2wks late even getting shipped and barely make it through 3mm hobby wood at 550 mm/m and 60% power. Not thrilled with it so far.

It will all be tested and aligned. Maybe it needs a little adjustment if there is turbulence in transit. Most of machines are ready out of box!

I just got mine and trying to get it to burn using Lightburn's "first project" deal, tried following the instructions properly but it only burns in one spot, probably because I don't know what I'm doing, my first, be gentle🙃 I just typed in my name and then did the "offset shapes" thing then I did the "Frame" thing and hit start and I just didn't get the results I was expecting. I think I am not putting in the right speed/power numbers. What should I use? thanks

How much algae control do I add to the chiller? I also purchased non corrosive anti freeze as Michigan winters are vicious.

If the temperature is between 0 ~ -10℃, you can use 50% algicide and 50% antifreeze. If the temperature is below -10℃, you should ALL use antifreeze
