Then when we lined up for the Main they said he wasn’t on the list again and couldn’t race. In the Novice class he was late to the gate and missed the start 🤦🏻‍♂️ At least his Heat Races were good.

i recommend hole shot devices. at first i kind of thought they were over rated. but i got one and it's the best thing you could possibly get for $100. it's so much easier because all you do is shift to second and pin it when that gate drops. the front tire doesn't even touch the gate and you fly. i've gotten the holeshot every race since i've got one.

Loving the videos. Progress with the kids is awesome. Once Luke grows into his bike, he will be unstoppable. I watch Mason with my hand over my face ,looking through my fingers(😉). 2:42 Mason should learn better starts, he dumped the clutch all the way out which isn’t the right way, and by doing that he will most likely loop out. I recommend watching The Mx Factory’s video for sure, thats how i learned starts the first time. Still doing a really great job as a kid, keep it up Mason!🤘

This was literally his first time doing a race start on the husky (kinda my fault for not thinking to practice a few before the race). But I think he’s used to dumping the clutch from the YZ because his fingers weren’t strong enough to slip it. That’s part of the reason I wanted to get him a husky, so the hydraulic clutch would be easier for his small fingers. But yes, it will take some practice to get it down.

You talked about being fair with Luke, and him not being tall enough to do good corners, but then got critical on Lillian for taking it easy while winning her race......I bet if you took lap times of her "taking it easy" compared to when you don't think she was "taking it easy" they would be similar. She has a technical riding style, and is smooth and not twitchy with her movements like many others in her class, so it may appear she was taking it easy. I grew up watching Jeff Emig and Denny Stephenson racing each other throughout Kansas and Oklahoma and it always looked like Jeff was flying and looked like Denny was "taking it easy." I bet they split their victories though and Denny's style just made it look effortless or easy.
