Did this walk a few years ago with family, when it was raining. The waterfall and scenery were stunning, even though it was wet. by the time we got through the tunnel the sun came out. The field you went across there were sheep and lambs in it. Love watching your videos

Just walked this route exactly as you showed in the video and oh my God was it worth it - thank you for this as I thought I was gna miss the viaduct on my visit 😊

This mate was awesome and so helpful. I’m from Kidsgrove so only around 40 minutes drive from the Peak District, it’s my go to for hikes. Nothing comes close to the beauty and tranquility for me. Had many trips out from when I was a kid,‘but we always stuck with the same places, Dovedale was like a second home 😂 I’m 50 now and last year decided I’d spend time visiting other places in the Peak District and I’ve been blown away by the whole place. So I’m spending time getting around it all slowly. This last old like a perfect little hike and as I’m heading that way today I’m going to stop by and do this. So cheers matey for this, I’d of never known about a lot of these amazing gems if it wasn’t for people like yourself so to me videos like this are a huge huge help. 😊

Beautiful area. love England. I've visited twice from the USA. 1988 and then again in 2022. Seems like a place I would enjoy living, but it's not that simple to just go live in another country for us.

Thank you. That was useful, knowing where to park, and then finding the path from the weir up to the viaduct. Then I had a good walk to Bakewell and back.

Although I visited England this summer (and loved every second of this stay) I never thought that it is obviously the country of waterfalls! 😮 So beautiful! I suppose I have to come back for some hiking. 😉 Thanks for your very good advices and brilliant impressions! 👍 Kind regards from Germany! 👋

Love you videos Sam. I’m in Australia at the moment but you’ve wetted my appetite for my visit to the Peak next week. My first school holiday was to Hartington at the youth hostel. Took my parents on one of the walks we did which was linear (hadn’t considered that at the age of 9 🤦♀️) and when we got to the end they said ‘where now’. I said ‘I don’t know, we got the school bus back). Around we turned and walked all the way back. Think it was about a 7 mile walk in the end at Dovedale. The Peak and the Lake District both have my heart.

Been to the Monsal Trail so many times and never knew about the Weir so thanks very much. Shame the Packhorse Inn was closed, it's a lovely pub and does amazing food. Thank you 😊

Love your KZbin and Tiktok videos Sam. Did this circular yesterday and downloaded OSMaps from your link. Beautiful views ❤️. Nearly got scuppered by 7 cows waiting at the gate just after going over the bridge near the weir!! Only thing I'd say is that last incline before you got to the viaduct was far from easy for me (I'm a bit doddery but luckily had my poles)... Plus it was wet 😭. Overall a great day though so thank you 👍☺️

Were there cows along this route? Not sure my children would like that!

I love how informative the your videos are. This one looks like a great walk with our 10yr old who can currently tolerate 4-5 miles depending on the ease of it. We recently walked along Baslow edge, that was pretty steep. Iv subscribed and we will be giving this walk ago. Have you ever been to the Isle of Wight? It’s like being abroad ☺️

@sallyhorn53796 ай бұрын
@@Samrculleyi think there are quite a few. We haven’t tried any yet but my dad lives there and we’re planning to find some coastal routes when we go in a few weeks especially if it’s not beach weather. I’ll have to let you know what we find. 🙂

Hi Sam. Found this via instagram. Do you think this route would be suitable for a kid in a buggy?
@pickman1uk5 ай бұрын
Hi did Sam’s route last week unfortunately I think the first bit is a bit impassable to a buggy as it gets quite steep and narrow in places. If you could carry it for that section you would be fine that’s what I saw one couple doing
